This IS the perfect RPG. There are two warring factions, each with their own ideologies. One wants to have fun, the other deep RPGs. There's lots of moral ambiguity. And there are consequences. If you join ESF, you get tubgirled by RPG codex members. If you join RPGCodex, you get suspended till an hour ago by ESF mods. You can also join neutral factions, like TIL. Or the Modders, which plan to rebuilt this rotten world.

You mean the sad-sacks over at ESF are (or were) suspending people's accounts just because they joined the Codex?

I was once a Hard Core Bethesda fan myself, however they have lost me as well because of their "New Philosophy".

Bethesda has lost ALOT of TES fans because of it, yet they still sit in silence and continue to put $$$$$ as their priority, not the fans who have made this series what it is.

Bethesda is on the verge, and have crossed over a little, in taking out too much RPG and replacing it with too much FUN. You have to BALANCE that or you end up with Oblivion instead of Morrowind.

Me, I'm holding out hope for mods. I've always supported modding, even for mediocre games. I'm kind of a lore junkie and when I see people wanting to mod in Final Fantasy or WoW stuff I feel like flinging shit against the walls.

The problem with that at the ESF is they want some kind of Romper Room "caring and nurturing" environment so when someone sees a post that hurts their feelings, they go crying to Daddy Archie or Mama Summer.

I check some of the complain threads at ESF and PM AoD info to people who say they want more dialogue, choices and consequences, and nonlinear quests. Sometimes I have to go through piles of idiotic posts or stupid threats from the mods, but it's a noble cause IMO.

Same here. Especially looking at MW mods ( Not that I like the vanilla game itself ).

For one of the latest examples, Timeslip on ESF, author of Morrowind Graphics Extender, has made a mod addon for MGE which makes it possible to see landscape miles away like in Oblivion and now he's working on the generation of far away world meshes like rocks, buildings in the distance.. And qarl was working on a pseudo speedtree as a seperate project.

I'm not a graphics whore. There have been times I drooled over such graphical shit and said "shiiiny!" like a complete retard, but I just appreciate such additions whenever possible, without making them a priority for myself. I conider such mods welcome additions. While at that, I also check OB forums as well, just to see if there's anything interesting, mods or retards.

Like any game I am waiting til I actually play it to judge so long as features that make it obviously lame don't appear, but it does look promising.

I don't know. I always have noticed that either you move on with the times and try to influence it as much as you can in the direction it goes or you stay back and get forgotten all together. It is the way things have always been and not just in the gaming and/or RPG world, it is true in all things.
