This game is pretty crap - thank god I didn't buy it; for anyone simply curious about what it is, the amount of C&C available and the story, there is a whole playthrough with images here (maybe it was already published before in this thread): https://forums.somethingawful.com/showthread.php?threadid=4003995

Suffice to be said, it has a lot of half-assed ideas without the true depth that should be there. The writing makes the player wanting to try certain things or simply deviate from being a slave to the script, only to not allow at all the deserved options in many scenarios: you are simply denied your agency.

As for this thread, makes me smile how you guys are actually believing the user above is a girl. You are degenerates.

I'm still mad that they tried to force a big ugly chick named "Island" into my party and thought I would just accept that like a bitch. These game developer just have no respect for their players.

Is there anything that hurts you in RL? Haven't seen a projection as big as this for some time.

The game - well, strong ly limited budget thing, and still won awards including "Game of the Year" Bronze Award 2022 at RPG Watchers . To each her own , I guess . The 73% steam rating is realistic IMO . Yes my ex-bf worked on it so I am tad bit biased but steam rating speaks for itself isn it

If I buy something and spend money on something, I expect it to be "gratifying". I dodged a bullet and I'm making whoever read this topic wary.

Also, don't take it personally. Your game is not the only one I've cricitized. I've also criticized TW3 and many others that are thought to be "great games".

Ho there, adventurers,

This has been an adventurous year so far for us, and finally we completed some quests that we can report to you. We weren't able to get back to you about the DLC/Fixpack earlier because things got a bit complicated - but we are convinced that the outcome, albeit not ideal, is more than acceptable in the given circumstances.
We are happy to announce that funding is secured for a next product, which is going to be a major CRPG in the world of Yerengal/Black Geyser, but it isn't yet the sequel for Black Geyser. (Yes, we totally want a sequel too.) Negotiations to secure this indie-level funding kept a big part of our team busy, but now we are good. Therefore, the development of the next product will start as soon as the DLC is released. Since the core team is still very small, we cannot overlap these two productions, but the preparation of the next product had to be started now, otherwise a seamless transition won't be possible from the DLC to the next product.
The next CRPG, while not yet a sequel, will aim to improve several aspects that were suboptimal in Black Geyser, and certain features will be modernized as well.
The Fixpack is expectable this September - this is the big game update with flails, dual wielding etc. that doesn't require the DLC to be purchased. The DLC itself is expectable in February 2025. Its development will finish earlier, but we want to make sure that its content is polished and well-tested. Also, autumn and especially winter holidays are not a great period for small indie releases, the market is pretty saturated with AAA marketing those months.
Some input from backers hasn't been collected yet regarding the digital rewards (e.g. custom spirit NPCs or in-game traps). We expect to send out these surveys within a few months. We will make sure to contact you in all usual channels (including a Kickstarter update), so you won't be able to miss it.
Thank you very much for your support again!
The Black Geyser Team

So a big new patch in September, then the DLC in February and then the work begins on a new cRPG in the same universe.

GreenMagicSpell is your ex working on this new game?

The game has enough C&C and mutually exclusive quests to warrant two separate playthroughs: generous and greedy. Personally, I perceive this game as BG1-like and it blows BG1 out of the water in terms C&C. Now, BG1 is not a high bar to set, but it is at least respectable enough to not call Black Geyser "crap".

Did BG1 try to force you to adventure with fat chicks under threat of a game over?
No, but it punished you with a game over screen if you dared to kiss one of the hot chicks in the game.
That's a good thing, romances are a bane on rpgs
Just like rape, romances are only good when they're tasteful and Black Geyser romances are tasteful indeed without any lewd- or cuckshit.

Adrian? No, I don ' t think he will, but not sure. He is barely on messenger since they got back from Costa Rice end of June. (Customs at Paris air port almost arrested them his cousin is a biologist she brought a herb called ^Jackass bitters^ this plantation really exists no kidding). Last B.Geyser info I hard is that he had a quarrel with the team because he prefers fast coding to commenting the code (<- does this make sense??).
