Brian Fargo does not endear that kind of adoration on the codex newfag.

And everybody here knows that to be the truth.

Not really. See: My criticism of Project Eternity, or other members' criticism of Wasteland 2.

I also don't give two fucks about what you think about Diablo's PVP, fact is they promised something to a bunch of people they didn't deliver on in the slightest.

Yeah, I noticed that it is a mass delusion on this board, resulting from too much wishful thinking, I think, that everybody seems to think that Blizzard is in a world of pain. Must be tough being the company with the most succesful MMORPG in history, raking in massive amounts each months from subscriptions and game sales.

Funny thing is, if this were written by Brian Fargo, with appropriate changes to the text to be about and relevant to Wasteland 2, but otherwise the same wording, then the entire codex would praise Fargo to the heavens for his dedication to not release an unfinished product. And everybody here knows that to be the truth.
What? People are bitching about the graphics on Wasteland 2 all over the place and everything else that has been released for the game (except the portrait art, everyone seems to love that).

If Fargo said he was cutting a feature out of the game that he said would be in, there would be extreme rage here.

As far as I know WoW is in steady, but sure decline... There is an end to everything, even Blizzard. :)

Hmm, seems like you missed something, which might be due to the misleading (if not downright dishonest) title of the news item:

First and foremost, if our original goal was to support dueling, then we're not achieving that goal very well if we don’t actually give players a way to duel in-game. You’ve been asking us for dueling for a while, so we're going to add it to the game soon. Dueling is currently scheduled to release with patch 1.0.7, which is set to hit sometime after the new year. (We'll be providing details about that feature very soon, so stay tuned.)

But as I mentioned before, we are going back to the drawing board on a new replacement for Team Deathmatch, something that feels more appropriate for Diablo III. And as we stated previously, regardless of when we release it, it'll be a free addition to the game. Team Deathmatch provided us with the foundation that we needed and served us well. Hell, it may even still be added in some form in the future. For now, though, we're going to first be looking at new modes that play up to the strengths of the character classes, focus on objectives beyond just defeating other players, and possibly even integrate PvE elements and rewards.

PvP hasn't been cut out.

Blizzard is never going to suddenly collapse and burn away.

There are too many stupid people in the world (specifically 10 Million of them).

Blizzard is practically on its knees, ready to keel over and fall into the grave they dug for themselves. They haven't made a good game since 96 and people are getting tired of buying their shit.

Isn't Blizz-Activision doing amazingly well because of the Call of Duty shit stuff and Kotick's ability to milk everything for every penny possible and make a profit?

No man, they're fucked; spiritually and economically. They put up a brave face for the public, but privately they're probably crying their eyes out. It won't be long now until Blizz/Activision starts selling off assets. They'll be going the same way Iply did, and good riddance too.

This thread needs more gaudaost for hilarious Blizzard-apologism.

I don't particularly care about this, as I don't care about diablo 3 for pvp, which was always an unbalanced clusterfuck from the first iteration to the second. But it is nice, that they are taking their time to make (hopefully) the best out of this free addition to the game.

You just apologised for Blizzard in your response. Free PvP isn't being added out of the goodness of their hearts, it's to extend the life of a product that milks money through micro transactions.

Actually, they haven't been covering their operating costs for years now. This latest slip-up might well be their last.

True, I do think it says something about gamer entitlement though. Damn you blizzard for not giving us our free (albeit promised) pvp fast enough! Also, all companies make games primarily to make money.

Your ignore list.
All that is needed for Blizzard's demise is a wow killer. It's the only game that keeps Blizzard alive now, given how much they failed with D3 and, to a lesser extent, with SC2.

When the WoW killer arrives, Blizzard will immediately try to react, placing all their chips on something new, which they no longer have the talent to pull off. The rabid fanbase might keep them going for a while longer after that, but it will only delay the inevitable.
