Fouls are in the game to give you a chance to stick a boot in that downed minotaur before he stands up again and rips open your defensive lines. Not to give you more points. :troll:

Oh yes, most definitely. Actually I'm kinda torn between having a Dirty Player lineman first or having Kick...not like our lineman are earning SPPs - they're really working so hard for little rewards. Kudos to them.
Come to think of it, I shouldn't spend the cash on Ogre so soon. I should just build up our first 11 to 1400 TV THEN join the LIVE season THEN buy the Ogre since the reserve cash never gets counted into the Team Value!

You linked to the wrong version though, I accidentally uploaded the misaligned file 3-times in a row due to confusing the file names. Should have deleted the other one. The post has been updated with the proper version now but only after you posted that :troll:

Hm. Quite. On the annual wedding anniversary trip at the moment, so finding time within a week is doable; In 7-8 hours time, not likely.
Will be trying to find the time. Probably should join the codex group on steam first. :M
That handled via invites or how? Nick and profile pic is the same as here.

1. Just post on the F13 thread for "Feeder League" telling them you want to join them in the Season 7 with a fresh team. Then go search for F13 Feeder league on Cyanide browser , join it with your fresh team (leave Auld world cause it's auto-joined by default since the patch) - their mod will approve of your join request - it takes time.

2. Season 7 Sign Up thread is where you post and tell them what team name , race, steam nick, time zone, and your intent to join. Still 8 slots available.

Try entering your Player Key on steam. I did that for the version I had gotten on Impulse (well what used to be Impulse) and it worked.

Hmm, it was defintely the Skaven/High Elves match I was thinking about RK47, though it's mainly due to how well that team's been doing for me (Like watching a pass being intercepted by a Gobbo before failing nearly every dodge roll that match...).

Azira: About getting the steam discount, have you tried redeeming your LE key on Steam? I know they started accepting it (at least ones from retail, as I had) right around when the Chaos Edition was released, and with that in your library it'll give you the price of 10 bucks or so to upgrade (well, unless it's on sale at the time).

Ah, didn't think of activating the product. It worked fine, thankyou! :salute: Now installing LE under steam.

Pre-Season 3 is up!
Let's score more and get much needed experience and money to expand our team!

01.jpg

Tonight's guest team is Underworld again! Under a different coach, however. Lamaros is a 6 season veteran of the F13 league and will take a fresh team into the upcoming season. It's now the Knights' chance to taste a higher level of play.

02.jpg

Ominous atmosphere going on as Best with the Mess wins the coin toss and chose to kick first.

03.jpg

We're not one to back down. Going for a quick 4 player release on the word go.

04.jpg

And it's off! The kick is long!

05.jpg

Turn moved forward as the ref loses track of time as Knights breaks out of the line.

06.jpg

No fear.

07.jpg

Four receivers. Let's do this!

08.jpg

Whitewolf knocks down an errant gobbo, but no injury!

09.jpg

XenomorphII survives an early scare and gets ready to unleash the ball. Turn over!

10.jpg

BWM marks each threatening scorer and decides to blitz stabby.

11.jpg

The experienced catcher drops to the ground, stunned.

12.jpg

Gondolin gets taken down by a double team as well.
While the linemen awaits their clobbering...

13.jpg

Hellraiser wasn't so lucky and had to be taken off early. The Knights will have to battle with 10 men for the rest of the game! Turn over!

15.jpg

Jaedar blitzes!

16.jpg

Gets a knockdown, but no injury! We've opened a path! Xenomorph let's loose!

17.jpg

Humpalekka takes it clean and runs forth, firing it away at Brother None...

18.jpg

19.jpg

REROLL!

Pre-Season 3 - Blitz 02

Despite going down by one man, the Knights succeeded in scoring a fast touchdown. Is this going to be a repeat of the infamous 4-0 rout?
01.jpg

Let's take it short and fight for the ball!

02.jpg

The kick was high, enabling the opposition to get a man under the ball.

03.jpg

The failed their catch anyway.

04.jpg

An early scare as Angelo ruins their offensive block on the line. But a reroll puts it right.

05.jpg

Angelo is stunned. It's 9 v 11 for a turn at least, as the rats blitz !

06.jpg

Double-team blitz on Gondolin, he's seeing stars. We're down another man for a turn. Not looking good.

07.jpg

BWM moves the ball leftwards.

08.jpg

Troll delivers a solid punch at Humpalekka's face, stunning him as well. What the fuck is going on?!

09.jpg

Turn over as the Knights have to struggle with manpower shortage.

10.jpg

Jaedar tries to slow them down by marking the tip.

11.jpg

Xenomorph watches...as stabby sets up a last point defense in case everything falls apart. Let's blitz!

12.jpg

13.jpg

Whitewolf can't seem to injure these faggots, unbelievable.

14.jpg

Brother None leaves himself free, just in case. Turn over.

15.jpg

A blitz!

16.jpg

Brother None gets floored. The Underworld team switches to the right flank, pulling back the tip of their offense.

17.jpg

Turn over.

18.jpg

Stabby repositions for a better range.

19.jpg

Whitewolf blitzes!

20.jpg

Down, but no injury. Grrr. Lund tries his luck and didn't injure as well.

21.jpg

Turn over.

22.jpg

Here it comes...

23.jpg

Stabby gets pushed but unharmed.

24.jpg

Gondolin drops and gets stunned again.

25.jpg

As XenomorphII foils a block, the Underworld spends a reroll and gets it right.

26.jpg

Almost too right. FFS. That's another player off the field.

27.jpg

Turnover. We have to make something happen.

28.jpg

Brother none couldn't make his block count, managing only a push.

29.jpg

LundB fucks up his block. Tries a reroll and...

30.jpg

:decline:

31.jpg

stabby gets sacked - and Whitewolf succumbs to a double team, the Knights defense collapsing...

33.jpg

Oh FFS.

32.jpg

Turnover as the rats delay their touchdown by another turn.

34.jpg

Fuck that, stabby gets up, dodges, moves in to mark the ball carrier. Miraculously, nothing bad happened.

35.jpg

Brother none gets into an assisting position.

36.jpg

Jaedar stretches his legs...

37.jpg

And makes it. Azira will now grasp for glory.

38.jpg

39.jpg

No dice.

40.jpg

It was just a mere push. Turn over. Rats will now break out to TD.

41.jpg

42.jpg

Brother None gets it right. But the reroll has other ideas.

43.jpg

Not our day.

44.jpg

He gets stunned, leaving the ball carrier free to touchdown.

45.jpg

He hesitated for a moment, but went for it anyway.

46.jpg

And the knights conceded their first goal. This bodes ill.

Pre-Season 3 - Blitz 03

Tying the game at 1-1, the Knights will have to redouble their efforts, further complicated the lack of manpower. The second half will see them kicking, giving the initiative to their opponents, can they make the final turn of the first half count?

01.jpg

Despite the best efforts of the physicians, two knights remain KO'ed.

02.jpg

Sensing the need to restore numerical balance, the Knights get ready to smash the line.

03.jpg

04.jpg

The kick goes high, but Humpalekka can't capitalize and drops the catch. Doesn't matter we need to start bashing.

05.jpg

Gondolin clocks a linerat. KO.

06.jpg

Jaedar KOs another!

07.jpg

Azira KOs the troll! The entire LINE is taken off pitch. But we don't have another turn to score! :(

08.jpg

Humpalekka fucks up a simple pick up. Ending the Knights turn. Leaving stabby in a VERY vulnerable position.

09.jpg

A sole blitzer took him down, followed by 4 more gobbos ...what are they up to?

10.jpg

Slamming their boots against Azira's helmet, the lone catcher gets stunned.

11.jpg

Thankfully, the ref stops the play and ejected the offending git!

12.jpg

FIRST HALF IS OVER!

13.jpg

All ten knights ready for active duty while the opposition's troll never woke up.

14.jpg

We'll kick it short.

15.jpg

Ball lands off field. Just our luck.

16.jpg

Now they've got the ball for free. But at least our line should survive without the troll around...

17.jpg

I take it back. We can't afford this shit now. Apothecary activated and manage to fix his injury off the pitch. - He can rejoin his comrades on the next drive.

18.jpg

The Underworld takes the ball right field. Slamming Brother None into the ground.

19.jpg

Turn over.

20.jpg

We need to pressure them. Make them drop the ball or something.

21.jpg

Every knight gets to their man.

22.jpg

Whitewolf with the Blitz!

23.jpg

24.jpg

KOs a goblin!

25.jpg

Brother None takes down another goblin. Turn over.

26.jpg

Angelo couldn't hold the line.

27.jpg

Fuck that rat thrower is fast!

28.jpg

29.jpg

Jaedar and LundB disappoints. Turn over. We have no viable options to intercept the lone carrier.

30.jpg

We have to risk Xenomorph's dodge...A reroll later...

31.jpg

And he failed spectacularly! The Knights are definitely losing their patience, wasting a turn like that! None of his comrades are even in better position. The rat can score..

32.jpg

But chose to delay!

33.jpg

A brutal block stuns LundB. Turn over.
A deep deep discussion goes inside the Knights' coach as his turn comes. Going after the ball carrier wouldn't necessarily be to our benefit. Even if we get there, we might not even be able to execute anything meaningful. It's best to pressure these bastards to score earlier by going all out.

34.jpg

Signals were given to the players. 'Fuck the ball' Knights oblige, Whitewolf commences blitzing!

35.jpg

Stuns his prey! Xenomorph gets up, preferring not to give these asshole a free stomp.

36.jpg

Gondolin, stabby, Brother None, Whitewolf gets in position over the fallen prey. Azira with the finishing touch!

37.jpg

Crack. The rat coughed blood and had to be carried off the pitch. The ref didn't blow his whistle. Turn over.

38.jpg

XenomorphII gets smacked around.

39.jpg

Brother None couldn't stay on his feet. Turn over. No change of intent - Knights coach wave 'continue with plan B'

40.jpg

Whitewolf acknowledges..

41.jpg

Another KO!

42.jpg

Knights rally around each other. Not making a move towards the ball. Turn over. The rats look unsure.

43.jpg

They backed off. Delaying the Touchdown by another turn.

44.jpg

No fucks to give.

45.jpg

46.jpg

Whitewolf downs another. The rat lies on the ground.

47.jpg

KILL KILL KILL KILL KILL KILL

48.jpg

The crowd chant grew louder as the Knights gather around the lone rat.

49.jpg

Six boots came into contact, hitting the rat in the tail, thigh, and ass.

50.jpg

He's knocked out! The ref again, didn't blow a whistle. Turn over.

51.jpg

C'mon, score, you bastards. Score.

54.jpg

Score he did. 2-1 Knights are behind with barely three turns to play.

Pre-Season 3 - Three Turns Left...

We learned a lot today. How to cope with injuries, how to delay a touchdown, et cetera. Lesson's over, let's tie this game and go home.

01.jpg

Final drive of the game. No pressure.

Azira, Jaedar - on left. Brother None, Stabby on the right.
Gondolin, Angelo85, LundB, Whitewolf - center.
Humpalekka and XenomorphII ready for the ball.
They've 7 players left and we've 10. It's going according to plan so far.

02.jpg

MAKE IT HAPPEN

03.jpg

04.jpg

05.jpg

Right at the back.
Whitewolf stuns his man.

06.jpg

Gondolin only gets a push.

07.jpg

Jaedar, Azira breaks out left.

08.jpg

LundB and Brother None combines on the right blitz.

09.jpg

10.jpg

Gets a push. stabby dashes forward , awaiting for the ball. XenomorphII right on the line.

11.jpg

Humpalekka can't fail.

12.jpg

13.jpg

Extra step made with a reroll. No release. Not yet.

14.jpg

Three receivers at the back. Turn over.

15.jpg

16.jpg

Brother None lost his footing.

17.jpg

Angelo couldn't stop the git!

18.jpg

Humpalekka gets challenged. Turn over. TWO TURNS LEFT!
Whitewolf has to release Humpalekka!

19.jpg

Not yet.

20.jpg

Jaedar moves to a better position.

21.jpg

Now.

22.jpg

Just managed a push, but Humpalekka is now free!

23.jpg

Fire away!

24.jpg

25.jpg

It's GOOD!

26.jpg

Xenomorph, with the ball, will hand it to stabby!

27.jpg

Stabby fumbles it! But Xenomorph recovers! No retries is possible, but we've still got a turn!
Stabby pushes away the offending git!

28.jpg

Gondolin with a knockdown, hoping to score an injury, didn't get it.

29.jpg

Azira, final dodge to reposition as the final turn looms...

30.jpg

TURN OVER

Skaven blitzes Brother None, gets a double skull!

31.jpg

He rerolls -

32.jpg

and drops Brother None!

33.jpg

Moment of truth-

34.jpg

XenomorphII loses the ball! TURN OVER! FINAL PLAY! The crowd goes nuts.

35.jpg

Xeno to make amends with the wake up blitz!

36.jpg

Pushes the git away from the ball. Azira with a clear pick up!

37.jpg

Take, dodge, handover. Can he execute?

38.jpg

NOOOOOOOOOOO! Game over. Knights go home 2-1 down.

40.jpg

It was a good lesson for us. Lamaros is a real solid coach but the lack of injuries on the Underworld squad is telling - luck is not on Knights' side today. On another day, perhaps we'd have killed one or two players.

39.jpg

stabby gets the MVP, but no level up for the team. We march on, taking the lessons to heart. We'll meet them again in the League and beat them.

I'm kinda shocked by the injury rolls really. We should've scored at least a few casualties, especially since I've prioritised Mighty Blow Blitzes over everything else.
It's too bad really, but it showed that this game is at times, luck based. You could pick the best course of action at any given situation and still end up with a non-optimal conclusion.
But no harm was done, we didn't lose anyone and got some much needed SPPs.

Nobody leveled up and we're 30k away from our Ogre. Let's get 2-3 more games under our belt before the LIVE season starts on 15th Feb (right after V-day, folks!)

Pre-season checklist
- Level 2 Blitzers - at least 2 more for Guards.
- Accurate Thrower - x1
- Kicking Lineman x1
- 140k to be saved for Ogre insertion on Day 1 of Live Season play. We're gonna meta the game by entering a 1400 (+140k) TV team - at the risk of playing pre-seasons with just 11 men.
- Our catchers look fine I guess... I did give stabby Sprint for that extra burst of movement. TBH, I never believed in Catchers to stand upright most of the time. Block sounds good in practice - but meh, they're STR2, they're not gonna remain standing that long. Distance is the best armor - Any asshole with 3 STR can just walk up to them and get 2 dice blocks but not every asshole can keep up with 11 tile movement. Wrestle DOES protect him from armor roll when it's a double down result - but it's very defensive in nature, I prefer catchers to maintain a 'disposable' nature and just focus on doing what their namesake says- get in position to catch while putting their lives down on the line.

Gotta learn to set up proper chainblocks and crowd surfs. And pick up dirty player on a lineman or two to take out problem players on the opposing team. :3

Agreed. I really look forward to giving Whitewolf Frenzy.
Dirty Player - I'm kinda torn, I might want kick more. ... since I'm playing with just 11 on pre-seasons to meta the TV allowance. This could fuck us over if we start getting ejections/permanent injuries, but meh.. toastboy sated Nuffles already. I'm sure we'll be ok for another 3-4 matches. Right?

Two totouchdowns and MvP followed by a mediocre performance, i must have angered Nuffle.
