We've had a few board game threads popping up every now and again. Most recently my own spam in General Discussion, where people said it should've gone to public library. (WTF?) there was one for strategy board games in the strategy gaming subboard a month or so ago. Since there are apparently a bunch of faggots who like moving bits of cardboard about on the dinner table, what is the Kodex Kritikal Konsensus on where they should take their analogue dice fetish?

A clever naming scheme on a hypothetical board game subforum could include pen & paper rpgs in it as well. We had a few d&d 3.5e/pathfinder threads bobbing about a while ago.

IMO it should go into the library. It's all artsy and shit innit. Not enough threads to warrant its own forum.

A more pressing matter are the fucking console games threads in General Gaming.
I propose that General Gaming be split in two.
General Gaming - PC/multiplat including PC
General Gaming - Console only

Indeed like I suggested before, the Library.

It is moving quite slow down there, and boardgames should be drama-free so it disqualifies them from cRPG and GD.

Do not put in General Gaming (nor strategy), they might get confused with today's excuses for computer games.

if we're going to have the TECHNIKAL PHORUM then pnp/tabletop/board/etc. games deserve their own board. It can't be any less active than Adventure Gaming usually is.

We are the RPG Codex, yet we have no forum for PNP. Why have a forum for ordinary board games? General Gaming or GD seems fine for me. Maybe Workshop for the technical discussion :)

Just GD, they're too rare to get their own forum.

Now that I've moved to grad school maybe I can start a Steve Jackson group up.

It would make SOME sense to create a subforum for all kinds of more old school games like boardgames, CCGs, pnp etc. I am fairly sure that many visitors here played and play those so we could have some discussion going.

And those games dont really fit anywhere else. Besides imagine: we could play settlers of catan online with a Codex crew!

I suggest streamlining the Codex by making only 2 subforums

The first one is for PC-exclusives
And the second one is for everything else.

All problems solved.

Yeah an entire subforum for "unplugged games", would incorporate pnp rpgs and boardgames, thing is, will we have enough content for a new thing?

It might as well go in the Library.
