I used it recently as an introduction to the genre and the first act is perfect for that. From that point of view the jump in act 2 is especially jarring as I feel the second part of the game demands experience which goes a bit beyond whatever a new player could pick up just from act 1 alone. So the game goes from perfectly fitting as an introduction to the genre to "some backseat driving required".

They responded to the feedback they received re: difficulty correctly overall, but the game needed some further polish/balancing, especially around its seam for sure.

Anyway, I'm very much glad it exists.
