48 – A dim light
You mull over things for a couple of evenings. Then you come to a rather painful decision. You will endure, and firmly keep both women at distance. Frankly, you can do better than them, and besides they both seem to have potential problems. No, better not get involved with the likes of them. It is hard, you're only sixteen, but in the end you manage to contain your impulses.
(Personality trait has increased: You can keep your desires under control very often)
You also write another letter to Jacob, as part of your periodic reports. Luckily this time you don't have much to report, and no big problems. In fact, the main point of the letter is that the caravan will be able to leave about five days before the planned date, which surely can only be a good thing.

Excerpt 7: Rethoric – The power of gestures
... another lesson that we have to learn from the merchants of Dabil is the power of gestures. Here in our lands people tend to be rather still while talking, but the people of Dabil instead make ample use of gestures to emphasize, soften and accompany their speeches.
This has been observed for as long as we have had contact with them, and in the last centuries enterprising local nobles and cultured men have started to copy them, trying to use gestures in their speeches. The results are surprisingly good, and as such more and more gestures are used in our important speeches as of late...

The days pass by and the large caravan is now almost ready for departure. Your stay in this village has been quiet, and you feel you managed to work well. You have also learned quite a bit and feel more proficient with numbers now. After working on this for so much, and considering your previous experiences, you also think you have picked up the basics of trading, the art of making a profit with buying and selling goods.
(You have gained skills: Mathematics 1 (Very basic), Trading 1 (Very basic))
The day after tomorrow you will leave with the caravan, and an extra thirty soldiers that arrived from Bitak yesterday. This is also quire reassuring and so for the first time in a while you feel optimistic. Until now.
It is late morning, and you're out in the clearing where the caravan is being assembled. The place is abuzz with conversations, as people carry goods and load up carts. The morning is bright but not too hot, and you're making good progress. It seems a bit like a fair actually. You guess that for such a rural, dull village the preparations of such a large caravan are actually akin to a big festivity. The soldiers are lightly drilling in a nearby field, and taking care of the horses they will ride on the way back to Bitak.
Suddenly, you feel a small shiver. At first you think it's nothing but soon you start shivering all over. It's getting... colder. It's getting quite cold in fact, all of a sudden. A horse right besides you starts to nervously kick the dirt. You look around, and notice you're not the only one shivering, though most do not seem to have noticed yet. The animals are starting to get agitated, pawing the ground, trembling and making some noise. The morning doesn't feel so bright anymore.
Actually, it's not just an impression. The morning is really not bright anymore. The light is getting dimmer at an alarming speed. You look up and see that the sun IS dimmer now. The sky is taking a darker hue. You think fast, what is happening here? Also... when people notice there will be panic, maybe you could-
You have to dive to the side as the horses beside you suddenly go crazy and start to flee, almost running you over. All the animals in fact are trashing around in panic, and people have noticed what is going on at last.
"The sun! The sun! Oh god, what is happening? Adsal, have mercy!"
Panic breaks all around you, as people scream and start to flee in all directions. A few are fighting with the crazed animals, others are looking for their loved ones, it's complete chaos. The light is getting dimmer with each passing moment, and the temperature keeps dropping fast. You are having a hard time staying calm as well, as your head spins thinking about this sudden, unheard of event. What is this, what is happening, what should you do now?
You take a quick, deep breath and try to calm down, as you make a mental list of what you know of the situation. The sun is getting dimmer and the temperature is dropping fast. The animals are scared, crazed even. Not that the people are acting much better. The soldiers should be in a field nearby, maybe 20 seconds away if you run. Most other villagers are in the fields all around the village, as it's not yet lunch time. The lord should be in his manor, together with Kalz. It's no more than a minute away if you run fast. Your equipment, and more specifically your weapons, are in your lodgings. The lodgings are on the way to the manor from this place, going there and arming yourself should take no more than a couple of minutes if that's what you want to do. Also, there should be a few patrols around the village now that you think about it.
So Kyoss, what are you going to do? This is an open update, as you could do just about anything. Make proposals and number them, so I can keep track of the votes. If you want to ask reasonable questions, feel free to do so, I'll answer as soon as possible.
Note that you can line up more than one action if you want, if your input is required due to what happens or what you discover I'll simply stop the narration there,
