Sorry if this is already stitch somewhere , but after researching the forum , havent found any real info on it.

might interest some of you. Remember power rangers? Yeahhhh....me too not that much.

Ever dream of running your own studio sentai studio? Ever had wet dream about being yourself one of the power rangers or banging that sweet ranger chick? WELL IT WILL BE ALL POSSIBLE! ( 'Cept the banging part ) Behold Studio ( The guys from Knight of Pen & Paper if that ring a bell ) finally went with a release date , April 30th

Objectives of the game is to get a sentai studio out of bankruptcy , hires , train , equip a band of Sentai warriors to record episodes which must please the public. Combat is Tactical TB on a grid. No hexes for you hexes fetishism. Will it be shit? Will it prevail? KoP&P was a nice distraction , Chroma Squad got the same pixely art.

Just waiting to get back from work to get this baby rolling ^^ Gonna try to give a bit of impressions soon enuff. Really hope the tactical aspect of this is well done. At least i know where my week end is going DOWN THE DRAIN WITH ZORDS AND WANNABE POWER RANGER! i havent followed the story that much , but i hope Saban didnt rape them too hard to get their cut of the cake. that said , i can only follow saying this

GO!GO! CHROMA WARRIOR!

Nyohohoho , i hope its gonna be like meeting FFT again, except you see she's matured and blossomed into a fine piece of women.

EDIT: Huh , still not available on my steam. My canadian sense is tingling , guess its only available from X hour....

Multipath - severals endings - chiptunes music seem the real highlight of this game...so far thats what the steam forum ( yeah , yeah I know.....) is saying that the tactical isnt that deep....writing is meh but the overall experience with this game is pretty nice . Seem like someone bumrushed the game in 11hrs.

And for those interested in their first ''DLC''
https://beholdstudios.bandcamp.com/album/chroma-squad

gonna hand it to them.....not bad at all...considering the genre of course.

Hue! they had to put under the title "inspired by Saban's Power Rangers™", otherwise Saban would fill a lawsuit against them.

Last time I saw this, the footage showed some sort of railroading from one combat scenario to another, with a bit of tryhard-funny dialogues inbetween. Is there an actual management part?

I've been playing this up until the 2nd season, and it's pretty fun.

Quite a bit, surprisingly, between the 'episodes'. (i.e. the combat encounters) The humor is trying a bit hard at times, but you can't really fault the game for that, it's part of its charm, I think.

Yeah the humor is pretty hit n' miss . In a Sabanesque kinda way..in 2 words: Very cheesy~

Management part is nice for now ( still in season 1 ) you need to gear up your squadies , manage the studio and the equipment you want in it ( SD camera , HD microphone for more fans viewing etc etc )
You can also hire a corp/random dude/industry which give you various bonus to activate, The more fans you have , the more fan power you can setup with the guy/industry you've signed a contract with. Each contract like that gives you 3-4 bonus to activate , demanding X fan power toget in use , so depending on your fans power , you can activate severals or 1 bonus. Crafting is there too, can get you nifty equipment comapre to what is selled. Combo/multiple attack affect the drop rate of item i think ( not sure ).
thats my 2 cents for now, will be playing a bit more after work to list a few impressions

So retarded this monopoly over sentai that Saban has... Chroma Squad was made a a Brazilian studio, we had sentai tv shows here since National Kid in the 60s.

Stuff like Kamen Rider, Lionman, Changeman, Ultraman, Jaspion, Jiraya, Jiban, Winspector...all way before Power Rangers was created. But of course the greedy corporation that made its fortune off a rip-off now goes threatening people who are actually taking from the original source, not from Popamole Rangers. And of course the indie studio ain't going to a legal war with them, so now they have to pay royalties to Saban for a genre over 50 years old.

Feel like getting the game on GOG because of the trailer alone. Looks like positive impressions so far, probably buying it at the end of the day.

What I really like are the small C&C-flavored decisions you can make via E-mail. In the 1st season you get a random email from someone asking if he can wear any sort of costume, were he to get inside the studio. I chose the agreeable answer, so that 2 episodes from then, when one of my party-members has to go to a dentist appointment in a break between the current episode's scenes, lo and behold, some random guy that nobody knew pops-up with his lines and costume ready. It was really charming.

Indeed , it seem its via email that most of the C&C took place , I also had the same choice as you , and i've also hired a ''specialist'' on Alien , which helped me get ''the most realistic Alien episode ever''. for 80$ , fans and money pourred a little bit more....i really wonder what kind ofother C&C is there....I wonder how many path there is to finish the game.

So, let me get this straight. This game has:

-Turn based combat.
-In which party setup, positioning, tactics and facing matters.
-Non-animu graphics.
-Possible C&C according to some posters here, along with multiple endings, which implies it is not completely linear.
-It is not made by wapanese developers, but instead by brazilians.
-It is inspired by an American show (which in turn stole was inspired as well by another Japanese show).
-It doesn't seem to be a grindfest.

Therefore, shouldn't this game be on the CRPG subforum instead of the jRPG Weaboo one? :troll:

Jokes aside, it looks quite cool. I'll wait a while for further impressions and/or price reductions, just to be sure.

For anyone playing the game , its not THAT obvious , but between episode or when you start your game , Studio Icon > Studio options > now go crazy and change Studio , squad and Mecha name. Also editable , Transformation, transformation shout , Mecha shout and finishing moves.

i'm sure some of you are willing to share information on their team names and special shouts

Make the Codex Great Again!
I'm enjoying this so far though I'm only at episode 2. Combat is pretty tactical with the variety of skills and abilities that characters have. It's definitely not the NuseXCum clone I was expecting after reading previews, but that's probably a good thing; 2AP works well here. For those who are in the later stages of the game, do characters gain more abilities? I'm only concerned that the game mechanics will start to become repetitive after a few hours, like in Knights of Pen and Paper.

Actually, I doubt this kind of trolling would have hold any ground in court given how trivial it would have been to prove it was not specifically refering to power rangers.
The court fees could have been high, but fighting corporate trolls could have given them good exposure.

Giving it a try with a team of Talented Codexian Thespians, Quality Poster squad:

Leader - Hiver
Healer - SMA
Recon - Higher Animal (as a beaver)
Assault - Bradylama
Techie - Crispy

Lulz are being had.

Overall it seems to be a fun game so far, but I just completed Ep 1 of S1 so we'll see how it holds up.

This game is pretty fantastic, although the SJW shit surrounding one of the earlier missions was very annoying.

The retarded memes were far worse but didn't they remove that and the memes in a patch?

Would you consider writing a review of it for the Codex, then?

Once I'm finished with it, I'll consider it.

What's struck me about the game so far is that you actually do have to think and plan ahead fairly carefully to fulfill the director's instructions, nor can you purchase/craft equipment and upgrade the studio willy-nilly.

The Squad has a conversation about how a captive in the scene they're about to film should be a man so as to help shatter sexist stereotypes.
