In Fantasy General as well? I can't remember.

I am fairly certain of it. FG is reskinned PG anyway, with giant eagles for fighters and zeppelins for bombers. And in PG, it took highest generation tanks (i.e. Koenig Tiger) to shoot at 2 hexes, with its scale being roughly 1 km per hex.

If I remember correctly, King Tigers in PG1 and Archers in FG can only attack in the surrounding hexes. The King Tiger (and other big guns) got a 2-hex range in PG2. The only thing that FG Archers can do is to provide support fire to troops under attack in neighboring hexes.

As you can see, there's no mention of range:

Well seems that even crackers found the game not worthy of a continued "support".

Question to anyone who played the game with the newest patches. Is the game any better than before?

Much better. The last couple patches made some really significant gameplay changes. It almost feels like an entirely different game.

That said, it's still probably the worst Civ game. It's just playable now.

Crack for the latest hotfix 1.0.1.348 is out. I'm not sure if I can link to it here but google for "1.0.1.332 crack" without the quotation marks, click the first link and check the comments.
