Tangential to the topic, but I've noticed that space games and games with an overall dark palette usually cool me down. So that's what I play when it's too hot.

As with its predecessor, Faery Tale Adventure II: Halls of the Dead included a frozen wasteland.

Had a lot of fun with Faery Tale for Genesis when I was a kid, but could never beat it. I discovered years later that the game's DRM = late game quests that can only be solved with info from the physical manual :argh:

This was supposedly the first "full" DX10 game. Its set entirely on an "ice planet". Aside from great weather effects it had great smoke effects and motion blur that blurred any fast moving object, not just the camera. The action was fine, you could ride a small mech and such but as i remember the story was pretty laughable.
