As I stated previously, I'm not going to indulge further in this "nudity in games" crap (OK, just this last post).
But it's interesting to note that this issue is strongly related to mostly cultural (instead of personal issues). I've noticed that nudity in games never seems to raise any sort of question in Europe (excessive violence, maybe - sex, no). On the other hand, it seems that it's a very touchy subject in USA.
I can be wrong (since I haven't found any specific sales data) but I think the
Witcher games have found a bigger audience in Europe than they have in the States. I've seen plenty of americans commenting on the excessive use of boobs and "sex trophies" in the game, deeming it gratuitous or stupid. I've never seen any european (apart from UK) bothering to comment on the "naughty" side of the game.
I'm not stating that such or such thinking is right or wrong. But it seems clear to me that, in America, people have more difficulty in dealing with the subject of nakedness in the media. Maybe it's related to the country's
puritan origins, I don't know.
In fact I'd be really interested in hearing opinions of female gamers on the "nudity" subject. So far, after all these years, I've only managed to see comments made by male gamers. I'm really curious to know how a woman sees her gender being displayed on videogaming.
If any fellow female gamer wishes to voice her opinion I express my gratitude in advance.
