Looks cool. Gives me Original War vibes for some reason, even though Command & Conquer or Total Annihilation is probably a better way to describe the gameplay. I am not a big fan of RTS games anymore, but this could be a retro title worth checking out. I hope for the game to have some nice single-player campaign to go through. Although I am probably being fabulously optimistic here...
It is definitely Red Alert inspired (in almost all ways including music). Big units on the screen gives even more RA vibes going back to world of 640p monitors.

It looks more RA than the modern CnC games and Tempest Rising, that's for sure.

I didn't know but apparently this is built on the OpenRA engine!

The game uses a heavily modified version of OpenRA. Most graphics are created by creating 3D models and then rendering them from an isometric perspective in Maya Autodesk.
That's cool. Game should get some nice new features as the OpenRA gets parity with the original Tiberium Sun engine created 20+ years ago lol.

Looks more readable (=better) without this shadows/lightings.

edit: up is new from above trailer, bottom is old.
Check the top tank on the hill with shadows hiding his contour. And compare to tower tank at the bottom - clearly visible.

Is that before or after the new lighting change? I don't remember how it looked like before.

The first is new, the second is old. You can look up some more screenshots from the Steam (they aren't updated):

Better version of the old lighting

In the new version the shadows are more pronounced. In the old version they were minimalistic. Frankly, it seems to be a fine change. Not that I thought the game needed new lighting.

It's been quite a while, mostly due to having to throw out basically the entirety of the game's graphics and replace them with new sprite sheets that are compatible with the new lighting and shadowing system, but now that system is (mostly) set in stone. We'll try and go back to putting out semi-regular updates.
That's probably not what you want to have happen on an indie game made by two people.

That being said, I'm rooting for this one. From what little we've seen, every image just oozes with so much more character than generic slop like Stormgate and Zero Space.

Is this fully 2D? Amazing artwork.
From the FAQ on Steam:
Does it run at 60 FPS
Yes, the game itself will run at 60, although seeing as almost all graphics are 2D sprites, many frame-based animations will play at a lower framerate.
Very impressive. That prerendered isometric style is just so sharp, I love it. Reminds me of playing Tiberium Sun in 1080p. It has none of the softness than 3d has.
