So DLC loot doesn't transfer...
that makes no fucking sense.

This. This is fucked up. Why the fuck not? I based my fuckin' character equipment on some of the DLC shit. FFS

actually it makes a lot of sense, how are they going to sell you AGAIN those armors and special DLC/Gamestop bonuses if you already have the old ones and don't need anything else ?, well, making them unusable of course

but don't worry, youll get the chance to buy them all over again, cool isnt it ? dont you guys love the DLC era ... ?

I am against DLC in general but especially those fucking special armors that you either have to preorder or pay for, so anything that pisses the people who bought them is fine by me.

Don't knock it - for a guy that's the best kind of birth control available!

Frankly i'm glad we're not getting any romances in Awakening, since the Bio approach is to make them just another minigame these days.

One thing I'm curious about is if the new stuff (specialisations, talents etc.) will be available in the OC too.

I already start to rally all my friends stop buying andy DA DLC from now on.

Really stupid and dishonest move from Bioware.

I think no DLC items in the expansion is lame but I don't see how it is 'dishonest'.. unless they promised 100% they'd be in the expansion it's not dishoest. You do know what disghonesty is right? It's when you lie knowingly. *shrug*

'These days'? WUT/ BIO romances work exactly nowaday as they did when they first started doing them in BG2. FFS

Anyways, don't care about new romances, but it's kinda lame they ain't continuing old ones. That's the pussy way out.

I can see talents being available but not specializations if they work as in DA0 since you either have to buy them in stores or be taught them. Never know. I'm hoping for new skills.

They withheld this when marketing RtO with the equipment.
This is enough for me.

Are there new specializations in Dragon Age: Origins - Awakening? (Back to top)

There are a total of 6 new specializations in Awakening - two for each class.
1.2 – Are there any new spells in Dragon Age: Origins - Awakening? (Back to top)

Yes, indeed. There are two new high level spell chains available to all mages and a choice of two new specializations for a total of 24 new spells.
1.3 – Will there be new Talents in Dragon Age: Origins - Awakening? (Back to top)

There are a total of 32 new rogue and warrior talents in Awakening (including their specialization abilities). For those keeping track, that is 56 total new spells and abilities in Awakening.
OK, who hacked Volly's acc?

Almost all items are imported with your character. The only exceptions are the Origins promotional items and DLC loot, which were meant for Origins alone.
Is there any mention on the Bio-boards as to why?
Not that I'm particularly bothered. The DLC-items sucked due to overpoweredness anyway, but I fail to understand/see the reasoning behind this decision.

Not all DLC items were powered. In fact, not even close.

you are kidding right ? when i finished DAO my main character was wearing 70% DLC stuff and most of the others were distributed between my other characters, the only ones i didnt wear were the some of the armor pieces, the DLC jewelry was by far the best in the game, the weapons might not be the "best in the game" (except for the meteoric sword) but they were in the top 10 (warden's keep meteoric sword in first place), the armors were replaceable, the boots and gloves were the best of the game tho

and best of all, you start the game with them, you dont even have to buy anything (and you can sell them for quite a bit), when i played the Dwarf noble route and got my DLC items taken away from me by the "twist" i felt how much harder the beginning is without them (and it pissed me off that the Dwarf commoner gets a magic weapon from Duncan when he had looted a lot during his vignette but the Dwarf noble gets nothing even tho he ends the vignette naked and without a coin)

you keep your DLC items with the newest patch

at the time the only way to get your items back was by disabling and then re-enabling the DLCs (which i found out after leaving lothering)

Kept the DLC stuff, too. Must have been the patch.

If you play as the honorable dwarf noble, you get the family sword. Shouldn't have behaved so dishonorably. Killing your brother probably didn't help either...

OK, who hacked Volly's acc? Since pirating is obviously theft and Volly would never do such a thing. He'd rather not play it if he's not willing to pay for it.
Unless he means the promo-items you got for pre-ordering. (If he pre-ordered.) In which case he was fucking stupid getting into a discussion about DLC item power...
