Im not actualy sure if this is the right place to put this post. Anywho, I recently got Daggerfall, but in short, it doesnt work.

I looked all around and found various solutions, none of which worked. I tried using an xp installer (two in fact), ive tried dosBox, a modified version of dosbox. As well as many small changes to files.

None worked.

What I was hoping that someone has had a similar problem of these not working, and/or knows another way of getting it to work. Although I have a feeling it may be the cd.

Again, sorry if its in the wrong place.

Okay, but did it actually installed (with the installer - oh the redundancy) the files and shit?

Not working like what? Crashing, funky sound, "couldn't detect CD" in DosBOX?

This is what I did to make it run:

Used XP Installer. Checked all the possible options.

Installed XP Patch.

Ran with VDMSound.

Yeah I should have been more specific.

Running just in windows it crashes to desktop and an error message pops up. Sprouting mostly nonsense.

Running on DosBox the screen is just black. As far as I know, other people have had this problem but the fixes I have seen for it just involve changing resolution, which didnt help.

Open the z.cfg file in a text editor, and make sure that the lines that start with "path" and "pathcd" specify the correct directories.

Do a search here with the keywords "daggerfall" and "VMWare", and thou shalt find thy bidding.

Did you increased CPU cycles in DosBox? If not try values 15000-17000(not higher than 20000 Ive read somewhere that after that sound is cut).
