I prefer hacking to be done more during combat. Let's say your char / you have Tali as tech specialist. You can command her to hack the door to open it while you hold off the incoming waves of enemies.

How do you imagine playing two minigames at the same time?

Nothing like that at all. It's a simple: Tali, hack that console to deactivate the force field. While Shep and the other squad member cover her. Or, bringing Jacob along will allow him to place mines or detonation charges to blast open doors.

It's called options. It may have been cosmetic (blow up / hack safe) but at least it's not a retarded mini game. Or telling the biotics to sacrifice offense to put up a temporary force field that protect the whole squad from ranged fire would be nice. It changes their roles from just spamming the same attacks over and over. Especially krogans. They're not a damage sponge, they're goddamn scary when they charge. So why can't Shep command the krogan squad mate to charge?

Here's the basic idea:

Tech specialist: Hacking consoles, safes and disable security systems. EMP Grenades against synthetics.
Biotics specialist: Squad shielding, Mind Control, Slow organic movements.
Krogan: Charge command to knock those fuckers down like bowling pins or melee engagement specialist. Just give them a chain saw or something.

We often speak of Tali and our fan enthusiasm towards her as though it
were a sect; the truth may not be too far off that description. Stated
in short, concise terms: We've become a movement. Each day the
self-declared "Talimancers" return, many of us familiar faces and some
new. (...) It may sound melodramatic yet
I believe with an earnest heart and a clear mind that the adoration and
love the character of Tali'Zorah enjoys is a testament to the
recognition by many here that there is a love that can burn so brightly
within the recesses of our souls that no darkness, no matter how
grave, can extinguish. We, the so-called "Talimancers" - a term that
may have started out as a half jest, have become a movement because we
see clearly, perhaps for the first time in a while, that there are
better and greater things in our brief existence than purely material
and selfish pursuits.

...

*shudders*

Burn it.

Burn it with fire.

It's kinda scarey over there, actually.

Yeah, it is. The Tali'Zorah Lovers thread reached over 1000 pages/40,000 posts before it got locked. That's probably the largest thread on any forum that I've ever seen: http://social.bioware.com/forum/1/topic ... ex/1037701

People really liked this game, and they REALLY liked the characters.

Holy shit!

Tali will be the most developed character in a bioware game ever, in ME3
