Ooh I really hope the tape is still alive. Even a remaster with just hi-res illustrations and modern UI would be great.

Recently I reached out to the Strong museum via email to see if they had processed the materials that Doug donated. Apparently they have recovered most of the source code from the tape that was donated except for apparently a few files that were corrupted. They didn't mention anything about the other materials Doug donated so hopefully they didn't get misplaced or lost.

At some point if there was enough interest I could perhaps make the trip there (the museum sounds interesting for many other reasons!). If I did that what would people be interested in gleaning from the source code? I doubt they'd let me copy it, so I could probably just look at some of the calculations various aspects of the game.

In case you missed it (former) CEO of Ziggurat, the new owner of Darklands IP, said that they secured the source code and they may do something with it.
