You can get the demo here from the Darwinia homepage. It's only 10.8 Meg, so its friendly to dial-up users. If you don't know about the game its a sort of RTS/action hybrid (although not really of either of those genres,) using popular figures from 8-bit gaming, set in a Tron-like full 3D world.

Anyway, I've been playing the demo all afternoon. The gameplay is pretty neat (if limitted) and the game looks amazing. So has anyone played the full version and can confirm that there's more depth to the gameplay and mission structure? Or am I going to have to spend $70 AUD to find out for myself...

I tried this last month when it came out, it's quite fun, but limited. You should get some of the mods and the editor to spice it up.

It lets you battle against evil darwinians who will colonise the islands to a point. You can end up with the whole map covered with them if you know how.
