I bought this years back when you first popped up as a sort of "help a brother's dream out". Glad to see it come to fruition and looking forward to playing it now that it's complete.

Also, nice voice over mang.

Congratulations on release. 6 years of grind straight is pretty impressive. Pretty decent art assets for a one man game as well. The reviews are probably better than you'd expect a similar game to get, 74/100 so far.

I bought this game but the camera is totally fucked up. Sometimes it jumps around on the 3D map and its weird in combat too. Makes it really annoying to play.
Also in my first fight I couldnt deploy any units, got stuck with the blue area for deployment but couldnt place the unit. Couldnt ESC or do anything else either. Had to Alt F4 and restart the game then it worked no problem.

Thanks mate! The trailer does have its faults though, I should probably do another audio pass, but limited time and so many things to do. I truly appreciate the support!

Yeah I need to put the control list in the journal/in-game.

I think most of the issues stem from the fact that the camera does not automatically center on player movement in the overworld map.

Pressing [SHIFT] in the overworld or combat will refocus the camera back on the character.

It jumps around on the map due to the old Unity legacy UI I'm using with all the UI updates. If you press [H] during the overworld map you will toggle on a simplified HUD and the camera should smooth out a lot more.

Deployment: Could you elaborate on this one? I've had a few deployment issues in the past. Could you not click on the portraits to deploy the character into the blue area? Has it only happened once, or did you have to ever double click the portrait? I may have some issues with the UI registering mouse clicks.

Yeah it was a long one, still got a long way to go though in terms of where I really want to be, but I've more or less mentally conditioned myself at this point, just have to keep chipping away.

I selected the character from the 3 available characters, it got attached to my mouse pointer but then I couldn't place it anywhere. I kept clicking all over the map, blue area, outside the blue area, the UI, couldn't interact with anything and none of they keys worked either. But the game was not frozen.
Mind you, this was my very first combat screen ever, so I had no idea what was supposed to be happening.
Only when I alt F4d and restarted, I reloaded my save and could place the characters into the blue area without trouble.

I have seen a similar issue to that in a Youtube playthrough, it looked like either the mouse click wasn't registering or for some reason the character got stuck off screen.

So after you restarted, you've never had another deployment/placement issue again? Do you still have any major gripes with the camera?

With release winding down and me processing all the feedback I've been getting, it's mostly centered on the UI and camera. I will probably reevaluate my plans and focus on that for a while.

The camera controls are not intuitive and the behaviour is unpredictable.
I played 1 fight yesterday, that's it.
I will post more feedback when I play more.

Alrighty, will be good if you can elaborate on the camera too, so I can see what improvements I can make. I've been developing on it for so long that I've become so accustomed to it.

Yeah that's the really hard part of indie development. Conditioning yourself to the grind and not using excuses like oh I did some marketing today or oh I did some research today. A lot of times it is easy to get derailed for a week or so and then you struggle to get back in, especially to the parts of the process that you don't personally enjoy.

Yeah very true. Honestly I still get derailed from time to time, especially having to balance indie dev with other part-time jobs, sometimes you are just too tired from work. I guess the most important thing to do is always remind yourself why you are doing it so you can push yourself forward, especially when you are going through the mundane parts of indie development.
