Shit happens I guess. Are your drives wiped or bricked? There are ways to get corrupted data off of the drive if it is not wiped.

The extension is thanks to a Windows Update that managed, beyond my comprehension, t9 corrupt my OS install, corrupt or disable all my backups and managed to cripple all options for a clean install. A perfectly fine laptop mangled beyond recognition, not even cconsidering the loss of a year and half of personal data. Maybe unrecoverable.

I am in no way an expert, but I had to nuke all the partitions, clean up the disks and burn a DVD boot to make it work (USB boot, rollbacks or recovery did jack shit). Using freeware tools I recovered something, but if you people know a good deleted data recovery program I am all ears.

KoolNoodles, God only knows. I can only presume it was some kind of catastrophic OS corruption, as the hardware seems to be fine and the system worked flawlessly until then. Deed is done, though, I just need to try to get the pieces.
