... or so it has been implied with Deus Ex 3 lead game designer Jean-Francois Dugas saying:

In an interview with Edge magazine, published tomorrow, Dugas says the original Deus Ex was “kind of slow”. He added, “There weren’t enough exciting, memorable moments. It was aimed more towards a simulation rather than a game experience.”

It had loads of exciting & memorable moments for me, sometimes fast paced firefights and other times creeping slowly around trying to figure out how not to get filled with lead. Jeezus H, it was precisely because it broadened out from the standard roller coaster shooter on rails thrill trip that the original was so successful. I don't think it was the plot, or JC's shades FFS!

Doomed, definitely.

So an honest question: Do you guys find it good, OK, unimpressive, or bad?

What I don't find is at least one game that wasn't shit.
