It doesn't work like it did in D2: LoD.

Xtimus tested it thoroughly. What else is off from the original D2?

Why aren't people screaming about this?

"It's almost as if the more MF you have, the more it works against you"

Well no shit. Thats how it worked in D2 too. Thats why back in the day people farmed with 300-400 MF. Not fucking 1800.

Really. I mean for that time he wasted killing Mephisto in the video I would've made my third baalrun.

You and the guy in the video are total morons, inable to understand a mathematical curve with a limit value. Not 100% sure if there is a limit if approaching infinite, cause I didn't look at the exact formula, but the curves for rares, sets and uniques sure look like they have one. Doesn't matter in practical terms anyways, since MF on a character is limited.

So 1800 MF will only increase your effective MF for uniques by about 60% compared to 300 MF. So that diablo drop is totally possible and to be honest a quite average drop.

Not to mention that 1800 MF gimps your clearing speed severely. I'd rather run with 200 MF but faster. And get more uniques and set items than him.

Also, people totally forget about tc87. If you want specific stuff you need to farm specific areas. There was this old guide at diabloii.net (Diablo 2 Strategy Compendium) which explains it pretty well. That website is probably dead now. And for runes it's totally different (farm Kurast Bazaar / Upper Kurast).

Also, old versions (?) of ATMA had a drop calculator for every item in the game. It was pretty accurate.
