In this thread at the Bioware forums, http://social.bioware.com/forum/1/topic ... ex/4471957 the debate is going on. People seem mostly concerned about what sort of weapon, Hawke is using....so any guesses from our residents weapon nerds or geeks.... And it is not a sword....it seems...

Liked DA:O. Hated DA:A. Not touching DA2. As much as I like 'reactive' games, I like INTERACTIVE games much more. Reactive and Interactive are two separate things.
The polearm in the trailer is a sword-staff combination, but the lower part of it can be unsheathed and used separately as a blunt object. I.e. Sword/mace dual-wield sort of gimmick.
