"To me, Bioware is making a game that harkens back to 1998-1999 that gets the BG1+BG2 feel right. "

It won't be BG2. It won't feel like BG2. It might have *some* things in common with BG2; but it won't be BG2. It'll also have things in common with NWN, KOTOR, JE, and ME. But, it won't be NWN, KOTOR, JE, and ME.

It will be DA, and like all BIO games it will a BIO game with all their strengths and weaknesses.

Period.

DA is NOT BG3. Or NWN3. Or KOTOR3. Or JE2. Or ME2.

IT IS DRAGON AGE: ORIGINS!!!!

We know the story will be awesome; there might even be competing factions in this game, the combat seems to be like or similar the old BG1+BG2 games.

Come on, this is hyperbole. We know nothing about the quality of the story, not even the ones that have tried the game do.

Don't understand all the negativity in response to this news, I read it my first thoughts were that is exactly what I am afraid of.

Alot of Bioware games have suffered from this kind of lack of imagination imho.

It would be great if a fantasy RPG could be different and embrace a truely darker world with more gritty and "real" views of religion, politics and human nature.

The Witcher took a good stab at some of this and based on recent past form, I am willing to be there is more than a little truth in this previews worry that Bioware won't.

I had thought "non-European" but then that'd include the Asians and I'm not up with how cock-sucking their media is. If I say "American" then that doesn't include Australia and the UK which I know are both full of cocksuckers. This thread is now about what the appropriate term should be.
There's always Anglo-saxon/Anglophone/English-speaking.

Yes, i know what it is!!! :!: Again, sorry for the icon, I truly felt it was needed here.

When I talk about DA: Origins making me feel like i'm back 10 years ago, I don't talk about wanting DA: O to be the new BG2 etc. I'm talking about wanting DA to deliver some of the feeling, if not all of it, I got when I played the BG series 10 years ago.

I know I won't be playing BG1+BG2 in DA: Origins. If I ever wanted to that again, I'll just play these games again...
