Eschalon I and II will come out before AoD, even though they began production AFTER AoD was started. That alone speaks volumes about the quality and dedication of basilisk games.
I'm curious. How did you manage to get so fucking retarded?

My most anticipated used to be Dragon Age, but now it's Risen. Gothic 3 was a disappointment, but at least Pirhanna Bytes has acknowledged that and they are going to make Risen another Gothic.

Gothic isn't that great. Though great combat but one, if not the, lamest character systems I've seen. Both of the settings were incredibly bland and uninspired with no notable characters. The questing and such was nice though but the level of writing and design needs improvement.

I agree about the setting in the 2nd game, but not the first. The setting in the first game (big gigantic prison) was fantastic. I don't see how you could say that it was uninspired. There has never been anything like it in games. The only other game that I have played with that kind of survivalist atmosphere was Fallout. The story didn't deliver on the promise of the setting though. Where Gothic really stands out is world design. Pirhanna Bytes and Rockstar are the only two developers that can actually design an open-ended game world with charm and detail instead of copy-and-paste or algorithms that procedurally generate 90% of the content.

Setting-wise, I don't see much interesting coming besides maybe Alpha Protocol and White Gold. I don't have very high hopes for either of those games although A.P. has some potential.

FYI all -- NWN came out in 2002 and DA was officially announced in 2004, although Bioware supposedly starting working on it in 2002.
