You've got it the other way round. College students make childish sex jokes and think this is what being mature is about. They most certainly don't realize they're being immature. This is what DAO does: it's constantly being immature with its depictions of blood, sex and so on, yet it also takes itself deadly seriously in every aspect, not just the "mature" ones. Look at Leliana singing for fuck's sake. It comes completely out of nowhere, there's the stupid invisible orchestra playing, the hilarious facial expressions on everyone, her cringe-inducing voice... and it's all meant to be dramatic and moving. Now contrast it with Mordin singing in ME2: it comes completely out of nowhere, it's played for laughs, it's clearly meant to be ridiculous (pay attention to the words) and then there's this really embarrassed look he has when he stops. It works much better because it's not taking itself seriously. If you strip away the terribad Collector shit from ME2 the rest of the game is pretty lulzy like this.Mangoose said:I don't understand why ME2 and DAO are so different in terms of "maturity."
The writers in DAO obviously think maturity = childish sex joke, this coming from a college student who makes childish sex jokes all the time but realizes they are immature and proud of that fact.
It doesn't change the fact both games are shit in terms of gameplay, but that's another matter.
