Why does this thread have 30 additional pages every time I see it...
A lot of it has to do with The Wall making absolutely sure everyone here knows that under no circumstances whatsoever is he ever going to buy, play, or put up with this game.

Never.

No way.

Ain't gonna happen.

Sequels to Grand Theft Auto, Elder Scrolls, Fallout, Dragon Age, all manners of less known IPs. All waiting 10+ years for a sequel. There is something deeply rotten with gaming industry, because this goes against all logic, reason and financial interest
Not the case with GTA, because GTAO prints money. GTA6 is an actual risk for Take-Two, no idea why they even greenlit it lol. It has all the ingredients to go wrong and disappoint shareholders after how monstrous GTA V became.

Yeah that's how they think but that's fucking retarded. We won't make more of "good" single player game because....those that play online can't drop it for a second? Millions who play only singleplayer and want to play next one won't play and pay because.... agh? And there's zero alternatives

That's why Kingdom Come 2 will be so big. You can sustain yourself on hate and disgust only for so long. Healthy, high production, quality alternative has to exist. That's why I say: all this clusterfuck is giant opportunity

Insert Title Here RPG Wokedex Codex Year of the Donut Pathfinder: Wrath
Also: 10 years for this slop? A decade to shat this dragon sized shit. Give me back good games, with graphics from 2000-2012, innovative gameplay, great stories, characters, artstyle and with production of couple years to three or maybee four max. This current shit is ludicrous. Also an opportunity
The 10-year development Hell leads me to think this might still qualify as a flop, even if it initially sells adequately. I wish I knew how much they sunk into Troonguard in total.
I doubt it was in proper development for 10 years.

Not for 10. Only for six. Three times rebooted. DA2 was made in 16 months and Veilguard had 150% of BG3's budget. Mega Honk

Where's that guy who makes "visual novel is the new rpg" memes? We need a new one "LGBTQ+ is the new rpg"
"CYOA is the new RPG" for Disco Elysium and "Bear-Buggery is the new Baldur's Gate" were funny; Bioware is simply revolting. I could create a "Top-Surgery is the new Bioware" image, with an appropriate screenshot from Veilguard as the basis, but that would be beyond the bounds of good taste. We can merely sit back, treat the commentary around the release as entertainment, and await Bioware's demise.

Anderfels is supposed to be fantasy Germany that half turned into a fucked up desert with black soil because of centuries of Darkspawn invasion, now its a regular desert with black and Indian people with German names. Also in Inquisition it wasnt just Ferelden that got culturally enriched for no reason, that was the first game with random black people everywhere including among elves.
"Random black people' weren't everywhere in DA:O, sure there were some swarthy elves but all Fereldans were white.
Thats why I started that sentence with "Also in Inquisition", previous 2 games had more or less consistent worldbuilding with different looking people representing different parts of the world.

There is The Elder Scrolls Online and Fallout 76 doing more or less the same thing too. Between Online and Skyrim re-releases they were in no rush to make a new game TES game, and they got lucky with Fallout show which led to a surge in sales for both 4 and 76.

I bet that in all that time more than half of what the game should have been was lost and they ended up with this in the end.

EA Boss Says BioWare Has Returned to Its Strengths With Dragon Age, Predicts 'Breakout Potential' Thanks in Part to 'Limited Competition'

"BioWare has rallied around what made BioWare a fan-favorite studio and a fan-favorite brand and the types of games they make – incredibly rich worlds, incredibly nuanced characters, really powerful and compelling stories with comaraderie and friendships and relationships, and decisions that matter in the context of gameplay," Wilson said. "And I think it’s been that return to what made BioWare great and giving the studio time to deliver against what makes BioWare great in the context of the Dragon Age world is what amounts to Dragon Age: The Veilguard."
Looking ahead to The Veilguard's release, Wilson praised its solid reviews and suggested that it has "breakout potential" thanks to BioWare's existing fanbase and the relatively clear release calendar. "We're going into a market with limited competition for this category of game given some of the moves that has happened across the broader industry," Wilson said, likely referring to Ubisoft's decision to delay Assassin's Creed Shadows into 2025.

I've had the unfortunate task of reviewing this game and just finished. I know you're all making fun of this turd, but it's worse than you think. First off, regarding all the woke shit - there's a lot. Believe you me, there is a fucking lot. I mean, the central personal development of Taash is that she is a woman who wants to be a man (so the opposite of what Cael guessed last page), which is probably also why they designed her to look like one. In the spoilers below is a pic from a fairly early conversation (in case there are actually self-harming people among you intending to play this and don't want to be spoiled) where Taash is talking about how she wants to dress like a man, that she hates dresses, that no one wants to be a woman and so on and Neve trying to cheer her up. To be fair, there is actually an option to not sympathize and essentially tell Taash to get her shit together in this convo, though it's inconsequential.

Anyway, point is, it's woke as fuck. Now, that's all well and good but it gets a lot worse because regardless of political and ideological agendas, if we're looking at this game from a purely mechanical perspective it still reeks. I can't give you an example of a single mechanic I enjoyed. The "crafting" is laughable, itemization is horrible, character builds and progression are meaningless and the combat is the worst offender. It's beyond simplistic with every class and sub-class feeling largely the same. The enemies all feel the same too and the only difficulty the game provides stems from enemies having an absurd amount of health making a lot of fights a real slog. New enemies appear out of nowhere, attacking you in waves. You may think you're going up against three darkspawn, but nah, have fun grinding down these six waves of teleporting cunts that'll never kill you but take ten minutes to finish off.

The absolute worst part of combat is the way the "party" works. You don't have a party, not really. Mechanically, it works like a retarded card deck builder. You see, your two companions are immortal (they have no health bars) and aren't targeted nearly as much by enemies in battles like yourself - they're mostly ignored and do little damage besides. Instead, they only serve one real purpose in battles: for you to use their abilities. They can have three equipped at a time (as can you), and these ability cards are the only stuff that does any significant damage. You're supposed to figure out combos, but there's nothing to figure out. Use ability X to give an enemy the effect Y, then use ability Z that does extra damage against enemies affected by Y. It's banal at best. Moreover, all these abilities come with a cooldown - a cooldown they fucking share, meaning once you use one all three go on cooldown (there's a few exceptions to this) - which means you'll spend most of your time simply auto-attacking and dodging enemies whilst waiting for the cooldown to end.

I could go on and on and on, but I won't (I've an actual review to make before the embargo lifts). This game is an utter mess and anyone giving it a positive review can never be taken seriously again.

The word is spreading it seems. Bioware will get another floop on their hand.
Probably it will bomb as much if not more than Andromeda.
Also congrats you're famous now.
