Oh
Here's some other gameplay mods from the author of Dullahan Overhaul:

Fixes a (I assume) bug that makes Archer deal about 3-5 times less damage to griffins, wights, and skeleton lords.

Debilitation curing potions make you immune to the debilitation they cure for 30 seconds (doesn't work for tarred, wet or caught fire obviously).

This mod makes the stagger and exhaustion mechanics less punishing, decreasing the amount of time you spend without having control of your character.

Durnehviir overhauls the monster culling quests to bring in more interesting dynamic encounters, featuring bosses and packs of enemies with bosses that make for some pretty memorable combat encounters like we had in the first game.

The guy behind the Graphics Suite mod is currently working on a project that modifies enemy AI to make it more agressive
Still no release date, but seems to be going well:

A small update I found out about this mod
The author is not just merely making the enemies more agressive (which apparentely in DD2 is best done by putting smaller pauses in the combos to "simulate" a shorter thinking time)
He is actually changing their entire movesets and behaviour properties - HP thresholds, proximity checks, priorities, cooldowns, spawn spell effects, tracking and the combat moves themselves

Basically he figured out how to make the SkillMaker but for enemies
The potential is huge

For now the author seems primarily interested on changing all Boss enemies before releasing the mod on Nexus
His intent is to make boss fights more fun to certain vocations (for example, the changes to the Minoutaur are done with a focus on Figther's abilities)
As such he is making some big departures from the vanilla enemy movesets
For example:
- in the video above, the Minotaur does a "desperation move" (as the author calls it) where he creates a circle of fire around the player and then proceeds to do the charge attack (which itself has new behaviours) ;
- the author also said the Cyclops (the first boss he completed) has a desperation move where he throws a meteor at the player ;
- the Wight has plenty of new spells as the author apparently really likes creating them, including an "ultimate" grab attack:

This game is really gonna be awesome in 5 years or so when DLC came out and mods like this become expanded.

The game is already awesome

The DLC should come out some months before MonHun Wilds - it's been Capcom standard pratice to launch DLC 1 year after a game's release at the latest, plus I guess that way they avoid product cannibalism

As for modding
Despite having no official support, the modding tools so far do seem quite capable of changing the gameplay
Unfortunately it doesn't seem possible to create new levels and UI elements
But the real problem is that the modding community overall doesn't seem very dedicated
The only mod author pushing the limits of DD2 modding, is the modder behind the Graphics Suite and that Enemy AI project - EXXXcellent
And the ouput of mods decreased significantly in May
Which is specially curious and a waste considering this is by far the most moddable REngine game
Perhaps its due to the ''disappointment'' and bad reputation the game accrued...

Speaking of EXXXcellent
If some of you prefer aspects of DD:DA movement and controls - like no infinite light attack chains, delay combos for Fighter and Thief, instant attack from sheathe, sprinting auto-sheathing, sprint jump landing roll, etc.

Wild Loot
In DD2 the best equipment is found on shops
The purpose of the open world in the design of the economy and item progression is essentially to gather Gold, XP and Materials
If you prefer the style of hand placed item rewards out the in the world map, this mod does just that

Do keep in mind this means that you migth get rewards for a Vocation neither you or your Pawn are currently playing as
WARNING: at the time of writing, the mod doesn't work with the newest DD2 update - the author has however already acknowledged this and says he's working on a fix - I will remove this warning once the mod has been updated

Lucky Scavanger
For those that also prefer to find the best loot outside shops, but also like a touch of RNG to chest rewards
Also drops scale with your level and enemy levels

These 2 mods are compatible

Enemy Spawner

Like the name says, allows the user to spawn any enemy or animal of their choosing
It even has options for Multispawn (no limit) and defining the Scale and Speed of spawned enemies
Also allows to disable Stray Pawns and set spawned enemies to only attack other enemies, npcs or game assets (the author is considering adding an option to have spawned enemies as "allies")

Updated Seamless Warfarer

Seamless Warfarer fixed to work on the July 2024 update.
Allows you to have 3 skills per weapon for the Warfarer job.
I used the "True Warfarer" mod in my second playthrough of Dragon's Dogma II, and it enabled three skills (other than rearmament) per vocation as a warfarer, though it was a bit tricky to get working.
