GamersInfo has posted their review of Dungeon Siege 2. There's no score, but scores seem to be fairly pointless anyway. So, here's the clip:

DS1 was a revolutionary game in graphics and gameplay, but the graphical improvements in DS2 are more evolutionary. Where DS1's environments were rich and detailed, DS2's are much more rich and more detailed. This becomes apparent right away, as the game's first major location is a lush jungle setting. Overall, though, very little seems to have changed with the game engine itself. With the exception of much greater detail, DS2 really has the same look and feel as DS1 ... and that is good.

Revolutionary? How? The world's most interactive screensaver? :?

I mean, it's not like we've seen thousands upon thousands of clones like with Diablo, nor have we seen any other major impact on the gaming industry other than the expansion and a sequel. And those are only because it sold well, not because it was "The Next Big Thing(tm)".

Best paragraph evar! This line is awesome:

Where DS1's environments were rich and detailed, DS2's are much more rich and more detailed.

 • Combat: Play Fallout Tactics(circa 2001) in real time mode with your guys set to aggressive. Then play Dungeon Siege 1(circa 2003) and tell me there's anything revolutionary about Dungeon Siege's combat.
 • Character system: Play Dungeon Master(circa 1987) and then tell me there's anything revolutionary about Dungeon Siege's character system.

I think the graphics of DS versus DS2 has been covered in another thread.
