I need some help, I played it a little a couple of years ago and now I am ready to try it again.

I need a good beginner walkthrough and graphic mod.

What do you guys suggest?

Thanks....

Read that wiki site from Kaiserin's post, it got loads of info, although some of it might be obsolete, I'm not sure.

And if you're looking for a good tileset you might want to try Mayday's . I have never tried it because I play DF in ascii (yes, I'm THAT hardcore :P ) but I heard it's good.

You can ask lots of questions on the forum... they are kind of dorky, but you can expect people to help you as long as you make an effort to read through the wiki and instructions. The devs are not really big on banning people from the forums, but if anyone goes out of their way to be an asshole they will get the axe pretty much right away.

THe walkthrough link given above should do the trick.

You would too if the "E" character always meant "Giant killer undead elephant". Give them a chance to retranslate things back into the English alphabet.

And whatever you do, don't say anything bad about the game.
Some of them will crawl out and start posting stuff like:

Code:
Spinning !!carp!! hits username in the head. It is battered!
Which is really annoying and derails the thread excellently.

Though that's pretty much what amounts to flaming over there.
