Finally, after 60 hours (plus reloading, LOTS of reloading), I too managed to finish Elex.
I had most fun doing quests for the factions in Chapter 1, before even joining anyone (took me 3/4 of the whole playing time). The main story, when I finally picked it up, was uneven, but the final twist interesting. Too bad some of the ending slides were reused loading screens from the game.
My Jax finished his journey as a level 47 Berserker, a spontaneous fellow. He romanced Caja (that was awkward, although their love scene was somewhat reminescent of Geralt and Triss scene in the lighthouse near Novigrad) and got the "emotional" ending.
A great game, alas with many flaws. A true rough gem, but also a proof that RPGs are not a compromised genre yet and still good titles may appear. Vast, handcrafted world was great, the factions interesting, their interactions complex. Although not deep enough - I managed to keep good relations with everyone and when the time came to choose sides, the Berserkers, Clerics and Outlaws all wanted me as their member. This should definately not be possible. I liked the difficult combat, although it became pretty trivial after level 25. The feeling of the growth of power was outstanding.
Elex inspired me to play other titles by Piranha Games. Until Elex I have only completed Gothic 1. So now Gothic 2, 3 (with community patch) and Risen 1 awaits. I hope it will be as enjoyable as this one.
