Saw this on offer on Steam.

I have played Rome + the barbarian one, found the campaign side very bad, which ruined the tactical segments (preferred historical battles). And the AI wasn't very good.

Are the naval battles in this any good?

I thought Empire had an updated campaign system, because I remember seeing a similar genre game (18th century grand strategy) on here which showed details of your military reserves, # of men turning 18 this year, conscription rates etc.

After looking at all the gameplay videos it doesn't look like anything special, except maybe the naval battles.

Yeah TCancer sucks. The own subforums of the Codex get more coverage on games that TCancer is supposed to be all about. Sorry babyarm, but you're wasting your time.
