Looks like this was announced last month, but it's the first I've heard of it - Faery: Legends of Avalon.

We are very pleased to present today new images of Faery: Legends of Avalon, the upcoming RPG from Spiders studio for PlayStation Network, Xbox LIVE Arcade and for download on PC!

Faery: Legends of Avalon is a Role Playing / Adventure game packed with an original and unique atmosphere, and a graphics design close to illustration. The game immerses players in a fantasy world inhabited by many colourful characters and magical creatures.

In Faery: Legends of Avalon, the player plays as an elf or a fairy that will evolve during the story, through numerous quests and epic turn-based battles. Throughout the adventure, the player will customize his avatar thanks to a unique system changing not only the whole look of the character in every detail, but also its spells and special abilities! The player will recruit various companions during his journey to assist him in his mission, and he will be given the chance to explore mythical places full of magic such as the World Tree, the famous 'Flying Dutchman' ghost ship, and many others, in order to try to understand why the Kingdom of Avalon is dying.

Sounds pretty cool to me, if they can deliver on the whole "epic turn-based battles" pitch. Also, the mechanic involving fairy creatures that evolve new powers and abilities sounds pretty win. If they do a good job, I'll buy it for $20!

I hope the "ae" spelling means the game will feature a boss fight with a thinly-disguised Elizabeth I.

At least Jeff Vogel's trying something new with this IP.

Avadon is the upcoming Spiderweb game, this here is something else, Avalon apparently.

It's a fucking weird coincidence though. Spiderweb are making Avadon and a company named Spiders studio is making Avalon.

The name Avalon appears in the legend of King Arthur, this was the island he was taken to after his final battle.

Probaby Vogel changed one letter in it and got Avadon, whereas the other studio just named their game after the island.

I have.
Pros - some nice puzzles, alternative solutions to some problems, original character system.
Cons - combat is standard JRPG stuff, plot is retarded.

It's on sale at the moment. Only fucking fairies here are the ones in the game and the ones bitching about relevant questions being asked on internet message boards.
