I guess I knew this was coming sooner or later.

The part about this that irritates me the most I think is that we are now apparently calling PC games "Games for Windows". Microsoft continues it's march towards world domination.

Unified standards and services for gaming can be, and have for the most part, been beneficial to the gaming industry because it reduces hassle for the end-user (or should, anyway). The only problem with Games for Windows is 1) Microsoft is doing it and 2) Microsoft screwed the fucking pooch on that one.

Consoles would be awesome if 1) they offered mouse & keyboard input support as a standard as well and 2) they would stop dumbing down ports and game concepts, because they're nothing more than computers locked in a standard hardware configuration, which makes it a lot easier on devs.
