Wait, are they doing Fallout or some post-apocalyptic Pulp-fiction?

The only people making Tarantino comparisons are Bethesda. I think they probably believe Hostel was a Tarantino film because he slapped his name on it.

I lack the wit to put something hilarious here
Heh looking at the summary posted on the beth boards before the magazine pics leaked:

"Pic 6 - Picture of a man blowing the leg off of some mutant. A lot more blood then in Oblivion shown, but not anything unrealistic like GoW."

Nothing unrealistic?

I don't understand what is happening in this pic. Did he shoot the mutants leg, so that the mutant backflipped? But then, shouldn't the leg be on the ground instead of hovering near the mutant's knee?

Or did the mutant backflip first and then in mid-air his leg get's blown off?

So now that the mutated cat is out of the bag.
Has any of the "Official", "Professional" gaming sites picked up on this?
Especially the ones that scoffed at the idea that Fallout 3 would just be an "Oblivion With Guns" as i recall there were a few who were hostile against fans of the original who predicted this was what Beth would come up with.
Also @ Andhaira those are preview pics are actual screens from the game i believe, the bloom gives it away that its from the game i could be wrong of course.

That's a partly dismembered double half pike, but I seriously doubt he'll stick the landing.

Also, is it true there's a spot in a man's head that, if shot at, makes his head explode? I'd like a qualified physician's oppinion on this, or at the very least, the opinion of someone pretending to be a qualified physician.

Your... CPU has a slot for a floppy? Er, OK.

Also, presumably the mutant was standing on its head in order to demonstrate the new physics system.

Finally, does anyone have any copies of the scans hosted elsewhere?

When I saw that picture I thought the same thing too. It really does look like he did a back flip and got his leg shot off in the process. Very strange.

here's what happened: contrary to popular belief, bethesda is designing the mutants as rational npcs who, in some cases, can be reasoned with. as opposed to some screaming mobs out of serious sam

what you see in that pic is the result of a supermutant challenging the pc to a dance-off to settle their disagreement over the ownership of the fabled sharper-image ionic breeze(R) air filtration system

just as the mutant broke into an impressive headspin, the asshole pc blew his leg off

and there you go - choices and consequences

Ha, that's good :) It's a good thing those 5.25 were so elastic. Once you put it in there it can easily fold 90 degrees to fit into that CPU.... getdit?... doh...

Sigh... Well they've finally come out and admitted that it is oblivion with guns. =/

So now when someone asks, 'Is it Oblivion with guns?' my main answer is, 'in all the best ways.'"

Like what? Huge-huge-huge worlds with tons of randomly generated loot and randomly generated quests?
3D graphics?
Voice acting?
Movie scenes?
Action oriented?
Level-scaling?

I've played the elder scrolls series faithfully since daggerfall, but seriously.. fallout is a different game. If you don't know the difference, why bother purchasing a franchise in the first place. You could've just made oblivion with guns without paying millions for using the words: Brotherhood of steel, brahmin,pip-boy... and uhh.. uhh... deathclaws?
