Which is why I was wondering curiously why this wasn't brought up as a concern.
I think Avellone was responsible for writing most of the dialogue, but not creating the settlement itself.

It works by you mixing up opinions that do not belong to the same people. First you take the "OMG, FO is the best game ever. The only other game that comes close is Arcanum. FO2 raped the setting." Then you apply that attitude to everyone who posts that FO3: NV might be ok, due to ex-FO2 designers being on board.
The problem is you not being able to separate opinions and not understanding that there is no all-encompassing hivemind on the codex.
