if pe will be a success why not sell the ip? make shit load of money and make a new kickstarter calling it project blabla...
Sadly, I cannot share such optimism. Also, personally, I'd like to see more of self/crowd-funded smaller projects. For I don't share the view of the interviewer who seem to think the major games are the apex of gaming while these crowd-funded projects being just for nostalgia, either. Rather, to my eyes, much content has been lost in modern games, which would be only possible in smaller projects with much fewer people.

Why the hell would they do that? If PE is such a success, they'll be able to afford to develop it themselves. Obsidian has been yearning for a successful IP of their own for years.

Or even take Eternity at some point and have Eternity the [Infinity Engine] games and then Eternity the big open-world CRPG.

They would probably make a PE MMO if they had a chance. PE is already full of MMO retardation, it only lacks being masssive, multiplayer, and online.

Mr. Urquhart should go easy on caffeine. So far I understood there are 12 to 13 people working on P:E, and that they love marshmellows. Trying harder now...

Brother None and I spoke about this yesterday. We know that Wasteland 2 had a larger team at this point in its development (four months in). It may have something to do with the fact that Obsidian have the luxury of being able to shift people from other projects to work on Project Eternity and to shift them back again, as required. Which allows them to use their personnel budget more efficiently than inXile.

Enough with Chris Taylor nonsense when talking about Kickstarter, already. Somebody has just got to come out and state the obvious, that "Wildman failed because it looked like a Banal Shit Boring uninspired piece of crap console action game. From the developer of more Banal Shit Boring uninspired piece of crap console games." Plain fucking simple.

at the very start of the article. It's like they don't even get the idea that people wouldn't just throw all their money at every fly shit that comes along (probably spent too much time hyping new releases and with marketing people...) and that "Wildman" just wasn't appealing (and firing his entire staff didn't exactly fill people with confidence either). Nope it's the KICKSTARTER DECLINE!

Yeah, this drives me insane. Even Chris Taylor said as much. No one can just admit some proposals suck, some game designers have bad ideas, consumers have preferences, whatever.

Maybe, they are taking their time for pre-production and the company is trying to finish the South Park RPG, too. In any case, FO and PST were done by tight small teams with more freedom for the designers. Indeed, the promised content for PE is considerably large but I don't think BG2 is a better game than the two.

Obsidian Wild West RPG incoming?

Obisidian was also in talks with Ubisoft, which has the Call of Juarez FPS series. But according to this, original potato developer Techland is in charge.

Well, god only knows what this carriage means.
