...according to this piece.

Can we switch to acshun games before it is too late, or we'll stick to the fake life we lived so far? Which is better and why? Disc...well, you know the drill

Who the fuck cares about the games he plays? C'mon people, concentrate a bit, we need to master our lives, not be spoonfed by the rpgs that are stalling our superior aryan existence. Or something

This amalgamation of words is too great in length. I elect not to partake in the study of it.

jRPG = RPG; RPG = easy; easy = show_off; show_off = no_ambition; for(i=1, i>0, i++) {cout << "When you play RPGs you fail at life\n"}

Or something like that, it's been a while. Think I mixed a bit of C in thar

Well, that was certainly stupid. That author certainly tries hard, but he is not very smart. A shining example of fallacy. He had good ingredients, but his logic failed halfway through.

So, human psychology is so simple you can just condition yourself from a lazy motherfucker to a hard worker by switching from Final Fantasy to Counterstrike?

Yeah... you're "gifted" for certain mister.

Author fails miserably since he can't tell the difference between determination and grinding. Grinding is determination played on Very Easy, you don't need to constantly acquire new subset skills and spur your willpower with discipline to carry on with a given enterprise. You either rote-learn your way through, or endlessly repeat it until you get unconsciously better at the task.

The praise you get for grinding is of the "Wow, you must have worked very hard" variety. The praise you get for an effort demanding task that requires lots of capacity is just "Wow". In words of the article, Sonic games are like porn for the mastery oriented.

Insert clever insult here
Each and every example is a console game. Tells the reader something, right there.

Human behaviour is binary, 1/0, yes/no, black/white, sheeple/nomask.

And the worst clusterfucks I ever saw in the army were ALWAYS the result from stupid but hard-working people. Smart and lazy can just cruise along, stupid and lazy are harmless but stupid and hard-working? Gives me shivers.

Or something like that, it's been a while. Think I mixed a bit of C in thar

no ambition is uninitialized.
i is undefined. (Smart compiler might assign some type behind the scenes, in which case it would loop 126x)
cout is C++ C doesn't have streams in its standard library.
The values are assigned in reverse order.
No semicolon after " in the for statement.
No semicolons in the for statement.

A far more interesting piece on the gamer psyche would be to approach the matter of addiction or at least how does one rationally justify spending hundreds of hours on a hobby that compared to other pursuits gives so little back, at least I believe it does in comparison to other forms of entertainment.

Personally I see my gaming habit as a bit of a curse.

Arguable I know but if for example you have been a serious gamer for over 5 years there will be very little to "learn" ( gaming up to a point can be an indirect source of cultural references and information) through games and almost nothing that intrigues you or surprises you.

Wow, this guy thinks he's so darn smart but he's not. And other not-so-smart people also think he's so darn smart. A schoolbook example of how much average people suck at judging smartness.

+ colons instead of semicolons in a for loop head
+ logical error that would result in an infinite loop, as the condition i>0 would always be satisfied
