I have HL2 and the loading time is about 45s between maps. It's not a real big problem in a linear game but this would be unbearable for an RPG IMO.
Thx.
And sorry for being off-topic.

Actually, you kind of got the whole thing back on topic. Hehe.

As for load times, I can't speak for HL2, but I do know the more RAM you have the faster the load times. I had bare minimum and was getting 30-45s load times on the main maps when uncached. I upgraded another 128 and went down to 15s load times on uncached main maps. 5s on small maps.

The loads can be quite frequent in Bloodlines. How long your load times are is highly dependent on your system. Exitium and I get extremely fast loads because we have RAID0 configurations, while most people seem to have longer load times.

I'm sure that if you fall into the long load time group you have the potential to be quite annoyed, especially when at times, you'll be in a building and receieve a quest that is very close to your position spatially, but you can end up going through mulitple loads. For example going from the club to the diner and back to the club in the first hub.

That's my two cents.

Uh, I'm sorry but what's "RAID0 config" ?

Well, this is my PC spec :
-P4 2,2 G
-512 RAM

Don't know if anyone here have the appropriate spec and reasonable load time ?

Oh, and it's geared up with ATI 9600XT for more details, though I don't think this have anything to do with graphic card.

RAID is Redundant Array of Independent Disks. Essentially if you have RAID 0, that means you have two (or more) harddrives that are acting as one. So you can theoretically write to the harddrive twice as fast and read from it twice as fast, which obviously will help with load times, since there is a lot of hard drive reading going when you load a map.

Also, if you are getting 45 second load times in HL2, don't expect the load times to be much less in Bloodlines.
