GameSpy Daily has posted an interview with a few of the developers of Europa 1400: The Guild. Here's a brief taste of it:

GameSpy: What makes the game stand out among the other titles in its genre?

Lars Martensen: Oh, the atmosphere in the game, definitely! A winter's night in Europa 1400 is really cold (laughs). The game's atmosphere in combination with the music and the effects make you feel at home in the game world. Hmm, and as a second basic point I'd like to point out the multiplayer mode: never did so many "shooter" gamers in the German- speaking countries (Germany, Austria, Switzerland) played a life simulation over LAN as much as they have Europa 1400 since it was released. Take my advice, and play the game over LAN –- you'll have loads of fun! The feedback of the multiplayer gamers in Germany just shows us that our game "hit a nerve" here.

Please, oh please, let this game not suck.
