Game News Garriott is Open to Ultima

I do think EA is planning to do something with Ultima. I don;t think LB will be a part of it however. The gog releases, the twitter accounts talking about Ultima. I would bet we see a new game with the Ultima name in the next couple of years.

As to if it will be total shit or not, I think it will be easy to assume it will be a wretched abortion of a game. Skyrim with virtues? All the ladies will have tits bigger then their heads of course.

Eh. Waiting for a new Ultima that does not suck is total hopeless.

Getting into the world of Ultima required love for literature, theatre, old costumes, etc. A substantial percentage of the '80-'90 generation of players still had that. But today all this is totally incompatible with the kids. How do you want to convey the medieval world of Ultima to a bunch of illiterates that are hardly able to name a few classic novels, let alone reading one?

All that I can see coming from this ever is another damn action game.

BioWare Mythic (NOT BioWare Edmonton who makes Dragon turd and ME) already are making some new Ultima Game. Bets are it another shitty social network game though. One Ultima Dragon has seen that game but can't say anything about it other than he saw it.
