If you love old school fps games you can't go wrong with Unreal 1. The gog release also includes the expansion pack.

Unreal is more about 1vs1 duels with intelligent enemies and less about the carnage like in Doom or Blood. Plus you have way bigger maps, so you will have to pay attention where to go and what to do. The game has additional high res textures that you can easily find on the internet. The music is also fantastic.

As for the sequel, it's like Invisible War to Deus Ex. Don't bother, unless you really want to experience a boring mediocre game targeted for the console market.

Yeah.
All other X Games could be accquired DRM-Free via the Superbox, but for AP, you had to use steam up until now.
Though only for installing, they provided a no-steam exe quite some time ago.

Hard West still has its pre-order discount. I think pre-ordering anything is against your best interests and I don't know enough about the game to recommend getting it anyway, but it does look promising and there's a thread on it where the developer posts. It comes out on November 18.

I bought hard west a few weeks ago and it looks like damn fun; the very definition of what steamlining should be instead of dumbing down things it takes stuff away and balances the game around what the design hinges on in a simple system but with a surprising amount of binary options and depth
