Introduction
Just over three hundred years have passed since the time when countless hordes of the unclean, led by the dark deity Drach-Shu, were defeated, and the tortured land of Zlatogorie finally found the long-desired peace. The country of the Golden Mountains became more beautiful than before, fat herds grazed on green pastures, boundless wheat fields ripened, and people gradually began to forget the horrors of the past. The true Heroes, who overthrew the earthly embodiment of Drach-Shu, were canonized, their deeds deified, and the Cult of Heroes emerged, quickly capturing the minds and souls of people. The inhabitants of Zlatogorie turned away from their heavenly protectors, the Bright Gods, hoping, following the example of the Great Heroes, to rely only on themselves.
It seemed that nothing more would disturb the peace of Zlatogorie, and the cloudless years that passed since the fall of Drach-Shu made people think that such a life would last forever. Therefore, no one paid attention to the fact that the undead, crawling out of their holes, filled the valley, and hunger, diseases, and wars again began to reap their abundant harvest. Only the High Priest of the Cult of Heroes, Kotar, knew that three hundred years ago, this heralded the world about the imminent arrival of Drach-Shu, who instilled terror in the hearts of people.
One of the residents of a distant and unknown to anyone Alberia, named Alana, in her travels, went far north and stumbled upon a cave in which Chernobog was walled up, and, under his influence, broke the magical bonds that bound the body of the dark god. These bonds were imposed on the material essence of Chernobog by the Bright Gods, burying him under eternal ice. According to ancient legends, the bonds are held by seven Things, each of which previously belonged to one of the Gods. These are: the Axe of Belobog, the Mace of Perun, the Heavenly Fire of Svarog, the Golden Bow of Hors, the Magical Mirror of Lada, the Golden Sword of Yarilo, and the Ash Spear of Stribog. Six of the Things (Axe, Mace, Bow, Spear, Sword, and Mirror) are placed in the caves of the mountain under which Chernobog rests, forming a hexagram, in the center of which is the main artifact - the unextinguished Heavenly Fire of the great god Svarog, burning above Chernobog. Each item lies on its altar. If even one item is removed from the altar, the hexagram will be disrupted, and Chernobog's mind will reunite with his body.
Alana, obeying the dark will of Chernobog, wandered into the cave where the Magical Mirror of the goddess of love Lada was located. This mirror has an interesting property - if you look into it, you can't look away, because you see yourself there, but without inherent flaws, you see your better half. Enchanted by her beauty, Alana took the mirror from the pedestal. The magical bonds collapsed, Chernobog's mind united with his body. Chernobog easily subdued the local northern tribe, changed their physiology, and made them ideal warriors for his purposes. With their help, he wants to conquer the whole world, which would mean the destruction of the Bright Gods and the transformation of all people into zombie slaves of Chernobog.
Kotar knew that only one person could help in this situation - the great wizard and sorcerer of antiquity, Shurba-Hal. Then he gathered the Great Council, which, together with the six Great Priests, chose three apprentices, capable, in the opinion of the Council, of changing the situation for the better. They became Siger, Gertranger, and Molchun. Each of these apprentices excelled in one of the arts: Siger was the best warrior of the Temple, Gertranger - a mighty sorcerer, and Molchun - an experienced tracker. The next day, these heroes set out to search for Shurba-Hal - so decided Kotar, the greatest of the Great Priests, and the Council obeyed his will.
Kotar just did not mention that the previous night he had a vision sent by the Bright Gods, in which they ordered him to send a fourth student to search for Shurba-Hal, and to give him an item previously belonging to the True Heroes. Kotar was surprised, but he could not disobey the will of the Bright Gods. And so an unknown student sets out on a journey, which will be very difficult for him...
