No it died after Jowood released Gothic 3 in it's sad, sorry state. I don't care who was at fault but that was a complete rip off. G3 isn't bad with all of the patches now but it still feels like a rather pointless Oblivion, although much better for awhile. Not that that's hard to do.

I'll stick with PB, they hand craft their worlds, I haven't played Risen yet but I will be buying it at some point. The last Gothic expansion and whatever this new thing is has nothing to do with Gothic. It's just a name being raped by Jowood.

Yeah, I heard that Gothic 3 wasn't handcrafted at all. In-fact, I know someone who claims that he saw PB employees dancing, half naked, around a campfire praying to the gods for auto-generating levels.

Also, he saw someone at Jowood stab the nameless hero and go all necro on his nameless arse, which again confirms your theory of Gothic dying with G3.

Risen was good. It was a bit too easy, and the last couple of chapters were shit, but they didn't make up the majority of the game and overall it was good.

It wat disappointingly short and smaller in scope than Gotics, that's what it was.
Especially with chapter 3 it fell flat.
