Armchair Empire has done up their review of Harbinger, calling it shallow and rating it a 5.9/10. Here's part they did like:

Easily the very best feature in the game, and one I hope that other developers take note of, is the EZ Stash in Harbinger. Basically it acts as a means to help combat having a cluttered inventory while traveling through a dungeon. When it comes to PC Action RPGs it doesn?t take long to fill the inventory right up with all manner of enchanted weapons, armor, and the like. To help deal with this, Harbinger uses something called the EZ Stash. They?re containers placed within the dungeon where you can stash excess items you?ve collected. The beauty of it all is that there is also an EZ Stash at home base where you can pick up the items later either to equip them or sell them to Oda. It let?s the player have their cake and eat it too tucking treasure away for later without being over burdened, instead of sadly having to give up a potentially helpful item that they don?t have room for at the time.

I tend to agree this was a nice idea. Instead of teleporting back to town like you did in Diablo, Darkstone, etc., you can just send your items back to town that you might want to sell when you get there. Of course, you need to hunt down the EZ-Stash outlets on the maps, assuming there even is one.

I always thought the problem was with meaningless and useless l00t. For a single character game this problem seems to intensify. Another case of copying the clone and patching major problems. I guess a game like this is pretty meaningless without the meaningless l00t anyways.

Well, the problem with the EZ-Stash is that you have to find it, and once you've found it, you often have to backtrack to it to unload your stuff. It's debatable on whether it's actually more efficient than a townportal type spell, really. Then again, some mission levels don't even have EZ Stash locations, which is annoying.

Yes, there is a lot of useless items in Harbinger because they're all class specific. They also take up a shitload of room in your inventory, so it's important to have an EZ Stash location to drop off that stuff in.

I thought that Dungeon Siege handled this problem rather elegantly with the pack mule. That's one thing the game did right, at least.
