Apparently, there's a new Syndicate on the horizon. According to Boomtown's article, anyway.
I have no idea who Spong is, but here's a nostalgic pic:
Syndicate 3 on the cards
Another 16-bit remake?! Why ambassador, you’re really spoiling us!
Don’t like Desert Strike? How about Syndicate? Apparently Bullfrog’s old shoot ‘em-up strategy classic is also about to get the revamp treatment as a part of a new EA initiative to make better use of old game franchises.
If Spong’s anonymous source is to be believed the new game will be shown off at E3 for a spring release next year and will have a considerable number of ex-Bullfrog staffers working on it.
For those that don’t remember, Syndicate was essentially a real-time strategy game before there was such a thing as you controlled a team of four cyborgs roaming around various Blade Runner-esque cities killing lots of people. It was pretty good but the series came to an early death when the sequel Syndicate Wars bombed on the PC.
Hopefully this new one will suffer a kinder fate.
