Ib, the horror game

An horror adventure made in RPGMaker, tho there are not much fight mechanics. I consider one of my favourite games, with such a great characterisation and atmosphere, I replay it from time to time.
There are a number of fan translations, iirc at least French, German, Russian, Italian, Spanish.

There has been a rerelase on Steam but I haven’t played it. I guess people wanting to make their own RPG should play it to see how to develop characters.

While its puzzles are definitely on the easier side, this is definitely one of the best RPGmaker games around. Its definitely got an interesting story, and several of its elements were quite clever. For instance, the bit in the screenshot OP uses? That's because the main character, Ib, is a child and doesn't understand all the words in a given sentence. Later on Ib is joined by an adult, Gary or Garry, who does know what the words mean. The game uses this in clever ways. Its not really a survival horror game, as tends to get thrown around, but its still cool.
