You can make a good mage with these stats:
9 STR, 9 CON, 9 DEX, 17 WIS, 16 INT, 15 CHA
This gives you all the stats you need to pass checks right off the bat, and you can pump all levelup points into CON. Use the +2 tattoos to raise WIS, INT and CHA further.
- grab the +1 to WIS from the corpse bar for the extra XP
- Become mage as soon as you leave the mortuary so all XP points go to mage class
- get mazed by the Lady of Pain for some early loot
Notable early spells include magic missle and horror. There is also a nice dagger in the mausoleum quest.
Weird. I played a mage and sunk all my points into Int, Wis and Cha to open up all the extras in the story, and don't recall struggling with the combat. Doesn't TNO regenerate as well?

He does but very slowly, and the regenerate rate depends on his CON.

You can solo all of the combat in the game as any class, but I can see newbies getting wrecked by the respawning groups of thugs in the Hive.
High CON gives insanely fast regeneration rate.
If you don't take any companions and give all XP to TNO alone he will level up quickly and give lots of CP to spend.
Low NPC run is probably the best. So you can still do all the stuff for Grace, Dak'kon, but you also level up faster.Weird. True, but what is the point of playing Planescape solo? I understand it can be cool in combat-heavy games like Baldur's Gate or Icewind Dale, but in PS:T.... OP would miss so much and nice content (Grace's arc, Dak'kon's arc....). Anyway, after all the advices we gave him OP should be okay.

You click on one bad guy and watch your party attack automatically until they are all dead - with only the need to supervise and ensure everyone is attacking and not just standing around like the AI prefers. How is this an issue?
Did you know any form of "fast healing"? Can't rest anywhere and witouth that mechanic iI feel naked. Clearing the catacombs of "white bats", but I have to go back only to heal my companions (TNO heals automatically at least).

That works when I'm fighting against a small group of enemies. When they're more than 4 then I have to start running across the map trying to get them one by one. I'm was playing as a mage, not a good idea since I didn't get enough spells for it.
