Leon said something to EEVIAC's concern some time ago, but this may have changed in the midst of complaints.

From RPGCodex's own interview :

  • Whip : Will our vampire protagonist gain more disciplines during the game, or are we stuck with the set 3 we get from our vampire's clan? And do all clans get the disciplines as per the P&P rulebook?

Leon : You do not get more Disciplines in the game, you only have the three specific to your clan. Even though we’ve modified the Disciplines to be more effective and fun in the computer setting, all the clans still get the same basic ones they are given in the PnP rulebook.

So yeah, not great news.

Yup, that's how it is. No cross-clan disciplines - which I myself find a bit sad. Guess they don't want your character to be able to do everything on your first run through. I wonder how long it'll take for a mod to come out for this though... a week, tops?

How long before Volourn rushes is with a "leave it to Troika to leave it up to their fans to make the game good" Bio-analogy?

Or Rex clamouring that if it was another company than Troika I'd be flaming away right now?

Actually, no cross-clan disciplines seems pretty crappy to me, it's going to severely cut down on character development.

Maybe they hope to make an expansion where they can implement the ideas you are talking about with the vampire eating and the cross disciplines and all of that other stuff.

They are going to turn it in to The Sims: Vampire. 400 expnasions later they will be the richest game developer in the industry. This will give them the cash they need to buy the Fallout liscence from Bethesda after Fallout 3 bombs because it sucks ass, and then they will make the true successor to Fallout 2.

It's going to happen, I tell you.

Don't be too sure. Troika are never going to catch Bioware in the number of expansion releases :), so this just seems as a stupid opinion to me. No hard feelings.
