NEW UPDATE, LP HAS BEEN RESTARTED
A mod that gives Rome Total War: Barbarian Invasion some much needed depth and historical accuracy. Map has been expanded, the WRE is teetering on the brink of apocalyptic rape and hunnic subhuman hordes are rapidly approaching.
Vandals have landed in Africa and seized all but Carthage and the surrounding area, Franks are getting restless, Visigoths have occupied western Gaul, Spain is lost and the Burgundians are getting ready to invade Switzerland. In short, Western Civilization is fucked.
OR IS IT?
The barbarian fucks and the horseniggers might outnumber and surround us, but not all is yet lost. New Legions will be raised, territories reclaimed and the Cro-mags sent back to their mud hovels and yurts. This ain't undomesticated snowman Scandinavia, THIS IS ROME.
A few notes about the mod:
Horde features have been refined, meaning new horde units and mechanics, less upkeep and much more.
A new economic system that gives Romans some financial advantage over the barbarians, whose economy is based more on agriculture than trade and industry.
However, if the barbarians occupy advanced Roman cities they can begin a transition from their manboon ways into the roman ones, that gives them a financial edge but limits some of their previous strength, such as cheaper mass units who are nevertheless pretty good. Romans, on the other hand, must spend a large amount of gold to maintain their proper legions and their cheap troops are only good for garisson duty, echoing the moral decline of the roman people in their last days. (but this will obviously change)
The eastern empire is less hit by the decline, so it has a definite advantage over their enemies and cannot be easily run to the ground. Sassanids are more or less the same.
And, without further ado, let's start.
The first few quiet years are spent raising two new legions in italy, the most advanced and important region, to protect against any invasions. Sicily is also very important, but it's location makes it as safe as a place can be. That is, if the Vandals don't break through Africa.
Northern Gaul, with the Exception of Soissons, is an undeveloped place, not worth the manpower needed to pacify it. We shall allow it to secede.
Switzerland is in a similar predicament. Better the rebels than the Burgundi.
Africa, on the other hand, is a license to print money. Carthage is an extremely important city, as big as Ravenna and Rome and must be held at all costs.
Lastly, Dalmatia is the most threatened region. The horseniggers have spread like a plague across eastern europe, from the Volga to Potatoland and the gates of Germany. It will be our first line of defence against ITZ.
Soon afterwards, the Burgundi cross the Danube and besiege Luvavum.
And seize Augusta Vindelicorum. The path into Italy is open.
But Legios I Incilinca and II Lyrica (not to be confused with Illyrica) Suita are ready to intercept them.
But an even more dire situation is underway near Carthage. Horseniggers are approaching the metropolis en masse. Thankfully, the carthaginian training facilities are some of the best in the empire and the legion raised there is capable of dealing with them.
No matter the odds, no matter the cost, we must defeat the rape hordes and deny them entrance to our last stronghold in Africa. For if it falls, they will spill all over sicily and threaten italy itself.
NO MORE RAPE, NO MORE DECLINE.
GET THOSE NIGGERS
The machete gangs approach in a confused mass, eager to reach the white wymminz behind the walls of Carthage.
Their Cro-Mag cavalry, urged on by their inferior genes, gets dangerously close to the roman line.
They foolishly enter arrow and javelin range.
The horseniggers get more than they bargained for as the roman cavalry hits them head on and sends them fleeing back to their hovels.
With a determined roar (based europa barborum VA) the infantry advances towards the enemy mass.
With the cream of their cavalry dead, the cromags begin to have second doubts.
On the right wing, the cavalry positioned there is ordered to engage the enemy opposite them, then envelop the flanks of the enemy.
More horseniggers are caught with their dongs in the wind and pay the price.
With a glorious shout, the cohorts charge the disorganised enemy line, ready to throw the subhumans out of northern africa.
It begins to dawn upon the cromags that this was a bad idea.
The cavalry is now ready to envelop the enemy flanks.
But finds boss horsenigger on the way there and decides to lynch him first.
Niggerbeater claims another.
The enemy front begins to collapse.
Outmaneuvered and abandoned by their cavalry, the cromags stand no chance against roman steel.
But a their reinforcements begin to approach from west and north, the romans know they must make all haste in cleaning the niggers out and then redeploy rapidly to meet the new arrivals.
CROMAGS DON'T WALK HERE, CROMAGS RUN
Their nobles are still fighting, deserted by their entire army.
But a cavalry charge cures of them of that notion.
The entire legion is ordered to redeploy and combat the new threat.
But, in typical manboon fashion, the Vandals decide to call it a day and start running for the hills.
The victory is hailed nothing short of glorious, as the romans bravely shattered the enemy in one charge. Africa is safe, for now.
THe remnants of the enemy force flee to their fleet, which promptly blockades the port.
Our fleet is called in to send them to the bottom of the sea.
What is this I don't even
Thanks to autoresolve, the counterattack to reclaim Africa is delayed by one turn until a new fleet is raised. We can't risk leaving an entire enemy army near undefended carthage.
After a few years of growth, we are finally starting to make good money.
Think that is an outrageous amount?
Check the upkeep cost on a typical cohort.
Cromags can't swim.
And the first offensive into Africa begins.
While Huns begin to enroach upon our territory.
All in all, things could have been much worse but worry not, there is still time for them to escalate badly. Gaul and northern spain are vulnerable and the Huns are appearing at our borders.
At the very least we are making a decent (for invasio barborum) surplus every turn, so we'd have the ability to raise a couple more legions and upgrade training facilities in some areas.
