I managed to kite an entire nest of Beak Things into that slave market Eye Socket, then used the confusion to kidnap and imprison the noble. Pretty sure this isn't intended, but hilarious nonetheless!
It is intended.
I actually went for the pathfinding mod and it's helped a lot. I'm not touching the rest of the game because I want to see it "as intended", and I'm guessing the AI pathfinding is more bug than feature. My drug running operation has definitely benefitted!
A nice trick to smuggle drugs into a city is to put them into a backpack then unequip your backpack. The game doesn't check the backpack's inventory when the guards decide to arbitrarily put you through customs.

I can't put this damn game down. Base building aspect is a lot more fun than I expected.. I've set up in the Fog Islands and will be producing food cubes, grog, and raising dogs.

The fact that this was mostly made by one person blows my mind, truthfully.

I got a bit burned out playing the game and stopped playing it a few weeks ago, but I still think about it from time to time even tho i know and have seen 99% of what the game has to offer.

I think this reinforce two things in my mind: game is one of its kind and does amazing things despite its huge flaws... and i might be severely autistic for liking it that much.

Everything is intended in Kenshi. That's why it's such a glorious game ;)

He worked by himself on the project until 2013, when he was able to hire a small team that helped him with the project

edit: that's the current team. not so small anymore.
Well, I hope the new folks are as big a fan of the original Kenshi as the rest of the fucking internet is. And I hope the guy doesn't blow his budget on a massive team.

Kenshi sold like 2.3 million copies which I think its enough to sustain a team of 10~ for a couple of years. But Chris will probably seek aditional funding (like Epic Mega Grants since kenshi 2 uses unreal engine) if things take too long.

Fuck. If they are using UE5 then it means that everything they've done for Kenshi is gone because there is no way to import stuff from Ogre into UE.

They will have to reimplement all game mechanics and ... I guess the feeling of Kenshi's world will be different.

When was Kenshi 2 announced again? 2019? Based on Kenshi's development cycle, Kenshi 2 is right on schedule. We might see it at the end of 2029 if everything goes right.

Yeah its very likely things will feel different, but I trust Chris will make the right decisions. The fact that he worked solo for years is really telling that he deeply care about the game and want to make things right with the sequel.

2019, yeah.
I think we wont have to wait till 2029 because the team is bigger, but we are definitely a couple of years away from release. My optimism says late 2026.

I wonder if new engine will make modding harder, Kenshi has this great option to reload whole map so you can insert mods that add lots of stuff midgame while in other titles you would have to restart because of crashes and thosr mods wouldn't function correctly anyway. You can even restore state of the world so all killed bosses will respawn but your characters, items and base will still be present. Not sure if this option would still be possible.

A horde of starving bandits following me near a Holy Mine. Geez, I wonder what's going to happen.

Just gonna kite em, occasionally stopping for some hits and blocks. Then run towards the camp. Got quite a bit of levels doing this. Just from the kiting.

Well. Looks like it's time to turn up the spawn size then.

No need, just settle in the southern half of Skinner's Roam. It is casually patrolled by gangs of 50, with 2 or 3 often ganging up together. I've built a castle hugging the side of one of those high steep mountains, and 3 sequential kill zones are sometimes not enough to stop those fuckers.

I liked this game at first, but then came to the realization it is just a walking, butt-rape grind simulator. Horribly overrated trash

You may have undiagnosed retardation, but I'm not a doctor.
